Razzies say ‘The Emoji Movie’ is (poop emoji), but spread the wealth to ‘Fifty Shades Darker,’ ‘Baywatch’ and more
With only four nominations “The Emoji Movie” wasn’t the biggest contender at the 2018 Razzie Awards, but sometimes bad things come in small packages. Not only did it win Worst Picture, it swept all four of its categories. It also claimed Worst Director (Anthony Leondis), Worst Screenplay (Leondis, Eric Siegel and Mike White) and Worst Screen Combo (any two obnoxious emojis). This film, rated as the worst of the year on MetaCritic with a score of 12 out of 100, is the first animated movie to win the top prize. But the Razzies spread the wealth — or disdain — to several films in other categories.

The next biggest winner with two awards was “Fifty Shades Darker.” While its predecessor, “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015), swept the awards with five victories two years ago including Worst Picture, “Darker” got off easier by only claiming Worst Supporting Actress (Kim Basinger, with her first win after seven nominations) and Worst Remake,

Will The Meyerowitz Stories Earn Adam Sandler an Oscar?

Adam Sandler is not exactly synonymous with the Academy Awards. With that said, we’re also mildly aware that the actor is capable of more than just Jack and Jill and That’s My Boy. The case can be argued with films such as 2007’s Reign Over Me and 2002’s Punch-Drunk Love. However, we haven’t seen much of that skill from Sandler in the most recent years; it makes one incredulous that it’s still possible. Director Noah Baumbach begs to differ and actually moves to appeal to our inhibitions by giving Sandler probably the best role of his serious acting career. The

Mindy Newell: Days Of Yore

  • Comicmix
Presenting two real-life stories from my days of yore, although names have been changed to protect both the innocent and the guilty.

Story The First:

I knew a girl in high school – I wouldn’t say we were friends, but she was someone who had never participated in the Piggy horrors. Sally was an A+ student, on the track to an Ivy League school. Pretty (but not gorgeous) and popular (but quiet about it), she came to me one day and said that she needed to talk to me privately. I was surprised… and a bit suspicious. What did she want? But because Sally had never been overtly mean to me, even though she was part of the clique that instigated most of the callous cruelties upon me, and because I still hoped to be “accepted,” and I wanted to believe for some reason she was about to warn me

Tequila Tumbles, Room Races, and Tinsley's Tears! The Craziest Moments from Rhony's Epic Mexico Trip
The ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City have had some epic vacations in the past (see: Scary Island). But Wednesday’s trip to Mexico might just take the cake!

Bethenny Frankel, Ramona Singer, Luann D’Agostino, Sonja Morgan, Carole Radziwill, Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer left the Big Apple behind for a trip to Puerto Vallarta. While the President’s Day weekend getaway was supposed to bring fun in the sun and a relief from the stresses of life at home, the drama that followed proved to be anything but relaxing.

‘Funny People’ Is An Underrated Masterpiece, And Adam Sandler’s Latest Misfires Make It Even Better

‘Funny People’ Is An Underrated Masterpiece, And Adam Sandler’s Latest Misfires Make It Even Better
I’ve watched “Funny People” more times than I care to count (fun fact: Judd Apatow movies comprise roughly 40% of all cable television programming), but it never occurred to me that Apatow’s raw, shaggy, desperate masterpiece of a third feature was inspired by “The Great Gatsby.” For some reason, I didn’t automatically make the connection between The Great American Novel and a studio comedy in which Adam Sandler has sex with a stranger while pretending to be a Merman. But someone recently pointed out the parallel, and — like a Magic Eye stereogram or that bump on Jean-Claude Van Damme’s forehead — it’s the kind of thing that you can’t un-see.

Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) is our new Nick Carraway, an aspiring L.A. comedian who forms an unlikely relationship with a lonely, enigmatic, semi-reclusive titan of his industry. George Simmons (Adam Sandler) is our Gatsby, a

Grown Ups reunion at Netflix as Adam Sandler and Chris Rock to team on The Week Of

Author: Scott Davis

Many eyebrows were raised when comedian Adam Sandler was signed by Netflix on a three-picture deal in what was the subscription services biggest deal at the time. The company has expanded even more since he signed, but the marriage between the two has been a happy one thus far.

While critics haven’t been particularly forgiving with Sandler’s Netflix roster so far (The Ridiculous 6, The Do Over and Sandy Wexler, the latter of which debuted earlier this month) and as such the star has now extended his deal which will see the star make a further four films for them – and he may have secured his next film. Sandy Wexler Review

For years, having Adam Sandler’s name associated with a project has served as a kind of warning label for those who tired of his man-child schtick back in the late 1990s. Yet, despite the significant hate often lobbed Sandler’s way, he just keeps on cranking out one lowbrow comedy after another, wringing every last bit of fan goodwill with each painfully unfunny punchline. Yet, miraculously, he’s not only kept working, but also managed to land a lucrative multi-picture deal with Netflix, a contract that was recently extended. In fact, the latest effort to come from the deal, Sandy Wexler, is currently threatening to invade your home at this very moment.

In the new film, Sandler plays the titular talent agent, a pathological liar and messy eater whose fledgling agency gets a big break when he discovers singer Courtney Clarke (Jennifer Hudson). Set in the mid-1990s, Sandy Wexler

The Young and the Restless Recap: Phyllis Takes a Tumble

  • TVfanatic
The people of Genoa City really need to stop meddling in each other's lives.

If they'd do that, there would be far fewer people crashing and burning around town. But as it stands, the favorite pastime on The Young and the Restless is to poke around in other people's business.

Jack wanted to know why Jill betrayed him. Jill lied and came up with some dumb excuse, but it's not easy to sound logical when your idea of stemming the bleed of your son's affair with your good friend is to blackmail your friend's wife. Jack really wished she would have told him.

Granted, it probably wouldn't have made this whole scenario any better, but it could have preserved their friendship. Not that I don't fully expect Jack and Jill to recover. Jack could have also found Billy and Phyllis when they were in the throes of passion instead of "in love" and who knows?

Johnny Depp Considers Taking The Lead In Thriller LAbyrinth

Arguably, it is long past time that Johnny Depp selected a good movie project. He presumably has a very lucrative set-up with Disney regarding the ongoing Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, but lucrative deals and good films are not the same thing. He has, in recent years, filled his time with uncredited appearances (Jack And Jill, 21 Jump Street, London Fields), supporting roles (Tusk, Into The Woods, Yoga Hosers), and poorly received leads (Transcendence, Mortdecai, Black Mass, Alice through The Looking Glass) – but has not had a solid critical and financial success since 2011’s Rango. Could LAbyrinth be the film to turn things around?

The project comes with controversy baked right in. It is the screen adaptation of the overly titled LAbyrinth: A Detective Investigates The Murders Of Tupac Shakur And Notorious B.I.G, The Implication Of Death Row Records’ Suge Knight, And The Origins Of The Los Angeles Police Scandal,
