Fun show if you like war history
I am very surprised at the lack of reviews of this show here since it used to be one of my favorites back in 2009 and 10. The show's host (RIP Richard Machowicz) entertains the viewer by demonstrating weapons systems that are sure to keep the advantage over the enemy for the forseeable future. It's not just limited to guns though, although the show does feature plenty. He also covers tanks, artillery guns, ships, helicopters, drones, jets and many experimental things that went down the drain shortly after this show was made. At the time, no one knew if they would be successful so he included them in the show anyway. One of my favorite episodes is the one where he goes over the ADS, or area denial system, which consists of a giant microwave emitter situated on top of a standard US army humvee. The vehicle is able to project a completely invisible beam of light at a human target which causes a very uncomfortable burning sensation about 1/16th of an inch below the targets skin, which is about the same depth as 3 sheets of paper. It can be used from a very long distance and is completely silent. He also covers the Aquaram, a strange device that can be positioned next to a bomb and uses the power of water to destroy the bomb's explosive compounds before it has a chance to go off. Sadly, the show will not go on any longer since Mack died in early 2017, but Future Weapons is one of the shows I remember changing tv for the better, and I'm very glad it did.
