A young couple attempts to make their way to a rescue station during a worldwide crisis in which the dead return to life seeking living victims for sustenance. When they arrive, the shelter is being overrun by the undead and they seek refuge in a nearby abandoned house, and can only watch in horror as destruction and carnage ensue outside the windows... Low on food, water, and deprived of sleep, their grasp on sanity begins to slip away. But they have one small hope that may allow them to battle their way across the war-zone that was once the Garden City to what they hope is another survivor, and escape the maelstrom together. They fight not only with the reanimated dead, but with their own bodies and minds, as they hallucinate and slip in and out of consciousness, in their desperate final effort... Best Movie of the trilogy
24 October 2006 | by joel_friesenSee all my reviews

Tight camera work, great pacing, fancy storytelling make this my favorite of the meat market trilogy.

I liked the use of locations and having seen the organization that went into the shooting I was amazed to see how it all turned out. I felt there was a professionalism in the direction of this film and a fantastic use of available lighting. Rim, back and light through the fog was well done, everything looked great, character's were never blown out or washed out through a lack of contrast. The music was all great and blended in nicely with the film an original score helped this film. The film was genuinely funny, and there was one scare in it that got me.

The Paramedic rocks as well.
