Every year the biggest and craziest soccer tournament is held in Brazilian State of Amazonas: The Peladão. More than 1000 soccer teams compete against each other. the movie moves the viewer from the main areas of soccer activity during the world cup to the fields that usually are overlooked. That is what makes the movie so interesting for a German viewer. Also, it is nice to combine the story of soccer with that of crowning a beautiful girl as queen. The movie leads the typical viewer living in big city areas into areas that he normally does not get to see unless he is a backpack traveled. Last not least the colorful pictures of the natural settings act like an advertising movie to visit the area where the plot is taking place. I am sure that despite my age I shall consider planning a trip to the northern parts of Brazil in order to have a closer look at the people appearing in the movie.
