The Death Of Superman Blu-Ray Release Date And Extras Revealed

Being someone who owns each and every DC Universe animated movie, I can’t help but feel how the line is coming full circle.

Back in 2007, Superman: Doomsday began the party by telling a truncated account of the Man of Steel’s demise and resurrection. Awesome as that flick was, I can’t wait to see the story expanded into two films, those being The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen, the latter of which will debut in 2019.

For the time being, we’re going to focus on the first in the two-part epic that’s providing a new perspective on one of the highest selling graphic novels of all time. Given that milestone, it came as no surprise when last week’s trailer reveal lit the internet ablaze, causing us to suspect that a formal announcement regarding the home video release was set to follow.

Thankfully, our assumption proved correct,

In dueling pre-upfront press conferences Thursday, Spanish-language media rivals Univision and Telemundo revealed a similar objective: to explore a more diversified, multi-generational, multi-platform programming aimed at a fast-evolving U.S. Hispanic market.

The stakes for both networks are high. The U.S. Hispanic population represents $1.3 trillion in spending power, which is projected to grow to $1.9 trillion by 2022.

Univision, long dependent on Mexican media giant Televisa to provide its programming, has been playing catch up with NBCUniversal-owned Telemundo, which has been producing its own shows for years. To streamline the production of content across Televisa and Univision, Isaac Lee was

I Feel Pretty review – Amy Schumer's body-image romcom is light on laughs

The Trainwreck star is never able to reach her toe-curling best in this tale of an office worker who suddenly sees herself anew

On paper, this should be the perfect showcase for Amy Schumer: the title is taken from that girlishly hopeful song in the 1961 musical West Side Story delivered by Natalie Wood, whose gamine image is of course so different from Schumer’s. Yet at almost every stage, Schumer’s routine is weirdly restrained and inhibited due to the film’s high concept: that she becomes an aspirational success, against all the odds. It’s a plot imperative that works against the disaster, embarrassment and cynicism integral to Amy Schumer’s comedy.

The film is written by the romcom veterans Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, with obvious borrowings from The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty; they are making their joint feature directing debut, and Schumer has a producer credit.

TV Review: ‘Vida’ on Starz

TV Review: ‘Vida’ on Starz
The rare drama series to focus on Latino characters — who are female and/or queer, no less — “Vida” only somewhat lives up to the color, richness and excitement maybe promised by its title (the Spanish feminine noun for “life”). Starz certainly deserves a big gracias for disrupting Hollywood’s #SoWhiteMale status with this scrappy half-hour, which showrunner Tanya Saracho has said reflects her mission to introduce “the brown queer perspective” to TV. Sporting vibrant East La La Land locations and piquant touches of magical realism, the first six episodes ultimately unfold like an arthouse-y pastiche of Showtime hits “The L Word

Paramount Is Planning 2 Very Different Star Trek Movies

Paramount Is Planning 2 Very Different Star Trek Movies
Not one, but two new Star Trek movies are being developed by Paramount. We've known for a bit now that the studio was working on at least a couple of different new Trek related projects, but now Paramount head Jim Gianopulos has confirmed that two different movies in the franchise are in active development, news that was announced during CinemaCon in Las Vegas this past week. Unfortunately, he didn't dish any additional details, but this makes for an interesting confirmation, considering what we already know.

Starting with the more recent development, it came to light in December that Quentin Tarantino is working on a Star Trek Movie with J.J. Abrams. The Pulp Fiction director pitched the idea to Abrams and the duo then took it to Paramount. The studio then assembled a writer's room to flesh out the idea and, ultimately, Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) was hired to pen

7 Times 'Ugly Betty' Editrix Wilhelmina Slater Was the Ultimate Feminist Icon

Say what you will about Wilhelmina Slater, the rightful heir to the Mode magazine throne on Ugly Betty, but you can't deny that she is the ultimate feminist icon. Wilhelmina, who is played perfectly by Vanessa Williams, had confidence, sass, and did not hesitate to let anyone, including her ~boss~ Daniel Meade know exactly how she felt. Nearly eight years after the finale of the ABC comedy, Wilhelmina's girl power attitude is more relevant than ever — and it's no surprise that Vanessa has gushed about playing the chic fashion mogul. "A lot of the stance, the carriage, and the facial expressions are where the real power lies. That’s what makes Wilhelmina great,” Vanessa told Entertainment Weekly in 2009. "Sometimes it’s just a look or a sigh or a roll of the eyes or a turn of the back, and that’s weighted enough. It’s been my favorite role of a lifetime,

British director S. J. Clarkson in talks to helm next Star Trek project

  • HeyUGuys
The British director S. J. Clarkson has entered talks with Paramount Pictures to take the helm on the next Star Trek production. If negotiations are successful, Clarkson could be the first female director to get behind on the camera on a Star Trek project.

Only yesterday, we reported that at this years CinemaCon, Paramount Pictures announced that there would be at least two more films to come from the studio. With this news, it is looking more likely that Quentin Tarantino’s treatment probably won’t be the next to hit the big screen. The newest could very well fall into the current Star Trek world in which Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto play the young James Kirk and Spock. The most talked about plot for the film would involve James Kirk (Chris Pine) encountering his father (Chris Hemsworth) in a time travel/shift storyline.

The fourth project would have

Star Trek 4 Makes Franchise History with First Female Director

Star Trek 4 Makes Franchise History with First Female Director
S.J. Clarkson is about to boldly go where no female director has ever gone before, to take the helm of a Star Trek movie. Paramount Pictures announced during their CinemaCon panel today that they are currently developing two separate Star Trek movies, one of which is being developed by Quentin Tarantino and J.J. Abrams, but sources say that project is still being written and would come after Star Trek 4, which S.J. Clarkson has signed on to direct. Star Trek 4 had been in the works for nearly two years, but after Tarantino's Star Trek project got some steam, it wasn't clear if Star Trek 4 would happen, until today, with S.J. Clarkson becoming the first ever female director to take the helm of a Star Trek movie.

Star Trek 4 was first revealed in July 2016, just days before the release of Star Trek Beyond. There were rumors that Chris Hemsworth would
