Ecological horror is a genre that is not often tapped for terror these days, though it was – at one time – a staple of the horror genre, with films like Frogs, The Bees, Day of the Triffids, Them! and a myriad of spider-based movies asking “what if?” questions that captured the imagination of audiences for years.

Apparently based on true unsolved outbreaks of wildlife mutations (Loosely based), Strange Nature marks the directorial debut of fx maestro James Ojala and tells the story of Kim (Lisa Sheridan) and her son Brody who move back in with Kim;s estranged hermit father in the backwoods of a small town and find themselves in the middle of a horrendous phenomenon where

Thor: 20 Wildest Details About Valkyrie's Anatomy

The Thor series of movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe centers around the titular super-powered Asgardian, who has also been a major figure in the comics since his inception more than four decades ago. Thor: The Dark World didn’t quite meet critics’ high expectations, but Taika Waititi has shaken things up with Thor: Ragnarok, bringing a wacky sense of humor that has made it the highest-rated Thor movie on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the change in tone wasn’t the only thing behind the movie’s popularity, and Thor is far from the only popular Asgardian from the comics.

Fans went wild when it was announced that Valkyrie would be in Ragnarok, who is played by Tessa Thompson. Not only would a woman of color play a major part in a superhero blockbuster, but the character is canonically attracted to both genders in the comics, having had a romance with Annabelle Riggs.

The Biggest Questions We Have After That Intense New ‘Captain Marvel’ Trailer
On Monday, Marvel dropped the second trailer for “Captain Marvel,” the first female-led standalone movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and at first glance, it seemed pretty straightforward. It’s a movie about a superpowered woman trying to find out who she really is and gets caught up in some kind of crazy cosmic conflict.

But at second — and third, and fourth, and fifth, and so on (we’re not kidding) — it’s not so simple. Combine that with the assumption that “Captain Marvel” will, in some way, be a crucial piece of the greater MCU story ahead of the release of “Avengers 4,” there’s a lot to try to parse from this two-minute trailer.

So after spending way too much time staring at the new “Captain Marvel” trailer, we’ve got a lot of questions. Let’s get into it.

Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster survived The Snap in Avengers: Infinity War

Last week, the official blurb for the new novel Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest, Vol. 2: Aftermath revealed that Stellan Skarsgard’s Erik Selvig and Kat Dennings’ Darcy both survived The Snappening at the end of this year’s superhero blockbuster, and now we have confirmation that Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) was also spared by Thanos.

As revealed by Nerdist, the book – which takes place post-Snap – sees Dr. Selvig and Darcy reuniting with Jane to form the ‘Science Avengers’ as they set about investigating the cause of the devastation which has left humanity decimated.

Having portrayed the character of Jane in 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, Portman stated back in 2016 that she believed she was “done” with the McU, although she did tease the possibility of a return for “an Avengers 7 or whatever”. Perhaps that “or whatever” is Avengers 4?

Avengers: Infinity War Directors Reveal Their Favorite Moments From The Film

Avengers: Infinity War is a movie filled with so many awesome moments. Whether you’re talking about great bits of comedy – Star-Lord and Thor squaring off – or awesome action sequences – the attack on Titan – or even the emotional scenes – the whole damn ending – the biggest Marvel flick to date had it all.

But imagine having made the film and having to pick the part you’re most proud of? That’s what directors the Russo brothers were asked to do at a Q&A in Hollywood earlier this week. /Film’s Peter Sciretta reported that Joe went for a scene that many fans would agree is the best part of Infinity War: Thor’s triumphant entrance in the battle of Wakanda, in which he arrived in a blaze of lightning decreeing, “Bring Me Thanos!”

Anthony, meanwhile, went for a more character-driven moment that, while still a very powerful scene in the movie,

Thanos' Infinity War Snap Didn't Get These Two McU Fan-Favorites

There were plenty of McU characters not seen in Avengers: Infinity War. And fans have been wondering which ones actually survived Thanos' deadly snap. Some of those questions were answered. We know Darryl, Thor's old roommate, is still alive. Deadpool was one of the lucky ones. And Howard the Duck is still quaking around the universe. Even though Peter Parker was turned into a pile of dust, Aunt May survived. And though she was in Infinity War, Shuri's fate wasn't revealed until after the movie came out. Now it has been confirmed that two Thor favorites are also still around.

Yes, Erik Selvig, played in the McU by Stellan Skarsg&#229rd, and Darcy Lewis, played by Kat Dennings, are still amongst the living in the current Infinity War timeline, before the Avengers turn things around in Avengers 4. Though half the population was eliminated after Thanos collected all six of the Infinity Stones,

New Infinity War Tie-In Novel Teases Avengers 4’s Post-Snap World

Today saw the release of Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Question Volume Two: Aftermath, the second half of a book series for younger readers that will be of interest to mature fans as well as it offers a clue as to what the world’s like following the harrowing events at the end of Iw, with Thanos’ reality-warping finger snap halving the Earth’s population.

The novel follows two characters we haven’t seen in a while and reveals that they survived the Snap. Specifically, Thor‘s Erik Selvig and Darcy. According to McU Cosmic, the story sees Selvig and Darcy investigate what could be the cause of the tragedy that’s being called “the Decimation Event,” something they soon work out can be attributed to the Infinity Stones.

The blurb for Aftermath does a great job at summing up how the world’s coping after the loss of half of humanity as well.

Two More McU Characters Confirmed To Have Survived The Infinity War Snap

Though we haven’t seen Dr. Erik Selvig since 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, he certainly seemed more clued in to the wider cosmic events of the McU than your average franchise regular, so perhaps it’s only natural that the Thor star has factored into a few pieces of Avengers 4 speculation.

Adding fuel to the theories is Brandon T. Snider’s new book The Cosmic Quest, Volume 2: Aftermath, which, according to its plot summary, features Erik and his associate Darcy Lewis as the leads. It seems that these two scientifically-minded figures survived the events of Avengers: Infinity War and are now struggling to piece together what exactly happened to half the population of the universe. As the synopsis tells us, they’re “determined to find and understand the cause of the devastation.”

Here's a Great Avengers 4 Fan Theory on How Erik Selvig Could Be Crucial to the Plot

I’ve read and discussed a lot of fan theories rabout the events of Avengers 4, but I’ve got a pretty cool new one to share with you today. It involves the character Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) and how he could play a crucial role in the plot of the film.

The theory comes from Reddit user mushbert, and he digs deep and offers us a very well-thought-out and thorough theory that I think a lot of you will enjoy.

After taking a crack at proving that all of Selvig's jumbled notes from his chalkboard in Thor: The Dark World are future events that he predicted in the McU, it’s explained that when Selvig was under the power of the Mind Stone from Loki's Scepter, he was given the foresight of all of the pertinent information about the events that were about to unfold.

This leads to the theory

25 Mistakes Fans Completely Missed In The Thor Movies

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, has had a pretty good run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with no sign of slowing down. Fans have reveled in Thor’s brash good humor, his prowess in battle, and his ability to grow as a person. He made his debut in 2011's Thor, stumbled somewhat in Thor: The Dark World, and shone in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. It's been a long and fruitful journey, but it hasn't been without its mistakes.

We’re not talking about the suspension of disbelief necessary to believe that a man can call down lightning or fly. We’re talking about goofs in continuity and writing errors that you’ll only start to notice after your fifth time through the franchise. You might already have noticed some of these, but we found even more for you.

True fans might hesitate to read about any nitpicky criticism of their favorite superhero,

Marvel Fan Took All of the Phase 1 McU Films and Turned Them Into a TV Series

If you’re a fan of Marvel’s movies and you’re looking for a way to experience those films in a very different way, a hardcore fan named Samuel Masters has re-edited the first phase of the McU into a TV series format.

He’s taken Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Captain America: The First Avengers, Thor, and The Avengers and cut them up into 12 40 minute episodes. This is definitely an interesting and new way to watch the story unfold.

All six films clock in at around 754 minutes, but this re-edited series transformation has a total runtime of 480 minutes, so he’s cut out a good amount of footage. But, the core story is there and it makes things flow a little more smoothly.

Here’s what Masters had to say about the project:

“This project started as a joke between two friends, looking for a

Avengers: Infinity War Almost Gave Us A More Serious Thor Before Ragnarok

Last year’s Thor: Ragnarok served as a pivotal McU entry for the God of Thunder for a variety of in-universe reasons, but from the perspective of audiences, Taika Waititi’s film was also important for its rebranding of Chris Hemsworth’s character as a more overtly comedic figure. It’s a change that carries through into the subsequent Avengers: Infinity War, where the pairing of Thor and Rocket was an ongoing source of comic relief, but in the early stages of the ensemble movie’s development, Marvel’s concept artists were unaware of the shake-up that Ragnarok would bring.

In the new artbook Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War – The Art of the Movie, it’s said that Thor’s first designs were created under the assumption that he would remain the brooding, relatively “serious” figure that he was for his first two standalone films, and it was only after

21 Fan Theories About Each Character Remaining After Infinity War

At the end of Infinity War, we lost some of our favorite and most beloved superheroes. We watched as Captain America lost his best friend, Wakanda said goodbye to their mighty king, and Rocket’s adorable son said his last words. As darkness consumed the light and evil defeat good, we all also lost hope and all sense of direction. However, it’s time that we focus on the here and now, and imagine how the remaining heroes can bring back the dusted Avengers and ultimately save the universe.

On Earth, we have the original Avengers – Cap, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, and War Machine, as well as Rocket, Okoye, M’Baku, and potentially Shuri. Then, in space, we have Iron Man and Nebula to hold down the fort and Ant-Man floating around the Quantum Realm. Lastly, somewhere in the universe, we have confirmation from the directors and other info that we will see Hawkeye,

Cap Vs. Thanos Funko Pop Pays Close Attention to Infinity War Continuity

Funko has released an Infinity War Movie Moment Pop! set that pays attention to the continuity of the movie. The figure in question pits Steve Rogers up against Thanos, which is featured in the movie and was one of the big teasers from the trailers that were released. Like most of their vinyl figures, the amount of detail is impeccable, but Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are appreciating it for a very specific reason, instead of how awesome the two characters look.

A closer look shows that Funko's Infinity War Movie Moment Pop! did not give Thanos the Mind Stone, which is accurate since he had just arrived on Wakanda and had yet to gain the Stone at that time. Thanos had traveled from Titan to Wakanda and was easily throwing Avengers around to get to Vision and Scarlet Witch. It's a small detail, but one that McU fans are appreciating.

Tessa Thompson Knows Who'd Win in a Fight Between Valkyrie and Killmonger

Tessa Thompson Knows Who'd Win in a Fight Between Valkyrie and Killmonger
Tessa Thompson believes that Valkyrie would win in a fight against Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger. The duo are out promoting Creed 2 and were asked to interview each other with some fan questions. Thompson and Jordan have a good time reading each other the questions, and we learn a little about them in the process. For instance, Jordan doesn't know the words to Survivor's hit song "Eye of the Tiger," but he knows how the melody of the song goes, which Thompson finds to be a little weird.

Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok is a total badass, who was able to give Thor a run for his money. Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger from Black Panther is another awesome character, who easily defeated T'Challa during their first real battle. However, unlike Valkyrie, Killmonger appears to have died at the end of Black Panther. This is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so anything is possible,

Marvel’s Kevin Feige Recalls His Final Meeting With Stan Lee

On November 12th, Marvel legend Stan Lee passed away at the age of 95 and the world is still reeling from the loss of the man who created so many of fiction’s finest superheroes. In a heartfelt tribute to Lee shared with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige wrote about his final meeting with the comic book creator, saying the following:

“I went to his house to see him, and he reminisced about the cameos. We were talking about what was coming up, always looking to the future.

Did he know that his time was running out? I don’t know. In hindsight, he was slightly more wistful than I’d seen him before. He talked about the past more than I had ever heard him talk about the past. So maybe on some level, he knew.

When I sat down by his chair in our last meeting, the
