Based on Mötley Crüe's 2001 best-selling autobiography, THE DIRT is an unflinching story about sex, drugs, rock 'n roll, fame, and the high price of excess. Director Jeff Tremaine shows us just how Nikki Sixx (Douglas Booth), Mick Mars (Iwan Rheon), Tommy Lee (Colson Baker), and Vince Neil (Daniel Webber) took Mötley Crüe from the Sunset Strip to the world stage, and what it meant to become the world's most notorious rock band.
Did You Know?
Of the four leads that portray the all American band, Motley Crue, Colson Baker aka Machine Gun Kelly who plays Tommy Lee is the only actor who is actually American in real life. Douglas Booth (Nikki Six) is from England, Iwan Rheon (Mick Mars) is from Wales, and Daniel Webber (Vince Neil) is from Australia. It should also be worth noting that Tommy Lee is the only band member to be born outside the United States. See more
Skylar Neil's age is inconsistent throughout the film. In real life, she was born in 1991 and she died in 1995 at the age of four. The film implies that she was born sometime in 1985, yet she appears to be three or four years old in the 1987 scene where Vince reacts to the news reports of Nikki's overdose. Furthermore, she appears to be four or five years old in her 1995 death scene. See more
The 1980s, the worst fucking decade in human history. Preppies and keyboards, stupid haircuts, Jazzercise, and "Just Say No". It all fucking sucked! So what do you do when you're born in the wrong time? You make it yours. And that's what we did to the Sunset Strip.
