It's very hard to give "Fighting the War" a numerical score, as it's basically just a long series of documentary clips of the action (or lack of action) in WWI. I say lack because there is a sterilized look and feel to the action. In a war that killed about 11,000,000 men, you see no bodies, no closeups of trench warfare, no victims of gas attacks or the like. Instead, it's sanitized and glorious...the sort of material used to convince folks that it's manly and fun to go to war. Among the many things you see in this one is aerial footage from an airplane, a guy jumping from an observation balloon (with a parachute!), artillery at work, men marching towards the front and tunneling. Overall, it's a mildly interesting look at the war but a false one as well. You'd do better to watch a more modern and realistic WWI documentary instead.
