Storyline

Fin's son is arrested digging up a lot. It is discovered that the remains of a baby was buried on the lot. He calls Olivia and asks her not to let her father know but he finds out anyway. He gets a lawyer to make sure his son doesn't have to answer any questions. But his ex-wife tells him that he needs to convince their son to tell them the truth. And when he tells them, they sense he's not telling them everything. They eventually learn it might have something do with his cousin, Darius Parker. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

Quotes

Ken Randall: [to Fin about Darius] Can't do it.
Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola: He belongs in prison, Ken.
Ken Randall: Haven't we done enough to him already without me putting the nail in his coffin?
Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola: Don't you get it? He sold you on a lie. He's only looking at one count of murder now. He'll never pay for putting that little baby in the ground.
Ken Randall: Why not?
Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola: The courts say we got his confession and the bodies illegally. That means we can't use it at trial. We gotta say the murder victim's son came up missing the same time she did. We gotta act like we don't...

one of the best villainous performances in SVU's history
20 October 2006 | by See all my reviews

Of course, the name that stands out in this episode is that of Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, the rapper/actor from Crash and Hustle & Flow. Luda gives a wonderful performance opposite the SVU cast. His ability as an actor is very high, almost at the same level as his rapping ability (really good). This is one of the few episodes revolving around Detective Fin, as it implicates his son in the crime. A woman has gone missing, along with her child, and they are feared dead. After the husband is clear of suspicion, detectives uncover that Detective Fin's son, ex-wife, and nephew (Bridges) may all be involved somehow. All in all, this is one of SVU's best episodes because the acting is phenomenal, the plot is original and unpredictable, and plus, how can you not like Luda?
