10 Facts You Didn’t Know about “The Princess and the Frog”

The Princess and the Frog is a much older tale than some might think. It’s been around for so long that it easily predates Disney and has been an ongoing tale for a very long time. Disney’s version is of course very cute, musical, and geared to teach a lesson to children while entertaining them at the same time with a story of a young woman who sought to follow her dreams and was eventually able to do everything she wanted to do after kissing a prince who was at the time trapped in the body of a frog. While

John Musker, Co-Director of ‘Aladdin,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ and ‘Moana,’ Retires After Four Decades With Disney

John Musker, Co-Director of ‘Aladdin,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ and ‘Moana,’ Retires After Four Decades With Disney
One of the Disney Renaissance’s key figures is stepping down. John Musker, who’s responsible for such classics as “Aladdin” and “The Little Mermaid,” has announced his retirement after a 41-year tenure. Musker joined the company in 1977 and, alongside creative partner, also co-wrote and -directed “The Great Mouse Detective,” “Hercules,” “Treasure Planet,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and “Moana.”

A retirement party was held for him yesterday, according to the Cartoon Brew; that he’s far from a household name despite several of his creations attaining that status speaks to the unique plight of animation directors. Musker received two Academy Award nominations in the Best Animated Feature category, though neither “Moana” nor “The Princess and the Frog” won the prize. Had the award (which was introduced in 2001) existed earlier, it’s difficult to imagine “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin” not winning it.

‘Coco’ looking to be just the third film to win Best Animated Feature and Original Song Oscars

‘Coco’ looking to be just the third film to win Best Animated Feature and Original Song Oscars
The jury’s still out on whether being a Best Picture nominee gives you an advantage in Best Original Song, but surely being a Best Animated Feature nominee is a huge plus, right? Technically yes, but it’s definitely not a sure thing to win both. “Coco” sits atop our latest predictions in both Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Remember Me,” and if the Disney/Pixar film indeed goes two-for-two, it would only be the third time that the two categories went to the same film.

That might sound startling because so many catchy movie anthems have hailed from animated films, specifically Disney films. But the Best Animated Feature category was only added in 2001, right after Disney ruled Best Original Song in the ‘90s — five of the decade’s song winners were from animated Disney films; a sixth, “When You Believe,” was from DreamWorks’ “The Prince of Egypt

Latest Wreck-It Ralph 2 Peek Follows Vanellope Inside the Internet

Disney has unveiled its 2018 movie preview, which includes a brand new photo from the highly-anticipated sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, arriving in theaters this November. This image essentially visualizes the Internet itself, featuring Ralph being bombarded with pop-up ads, while Vanellope runs off to explore another corner of the world wide web. Along with this photo, Disney has also released the official synopsis, which you can check out below.

"Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 leaves Litwaks' video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet-which may or may not survive Ralph's wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope's video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph

Jenifer Lewis Has Thoughts on Auditions: "Are You Out of Your F—ing Mind?"

Jenifer Lewis' IMDb page reads like the greatest hits of popular culture from the last three decades.

The actress, now the salty matriarch on Black-ish, has appeared in A Different World, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Girlfriends and Living Single — almost always the mother or an aunt. And those are just her TV credits. She also starred in What's Love Got to Do With It, The Preacher's Wife and The Princess and the Frog — again, usually tackling maternal roles. So the title of her new memoir, The Mother of Black Hollywood, came quite naturally.

Lewis,...

In case you forgot, Disney wanted to remind fans that Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is coming out in 2018! The recently released a new teaser trailer to ring in the new year. It's been awhile since we've seen or heard anything from this movie, so it's cool that the studio has released a little something to get fans excited! It's not much, but it's something!

In the film, Ralph (John C. O’Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) get sucked into the internet to find a spare part to fix Sugar Rush after it breaks. From what I saw at D23 last year, it looks like it's going to be a hilarious and awesome sequel! One of the things that I saw that footage that fans are going to love is a scene involving all of the Disney Princesses.

Disney brought together most of the original voice actresses back for this one particular scene.
