Storyline

When the foster mother and chief of staff of Martha's, Naomi, is brutally murdered, her adopted daughter, Maddie stays with Martha and Clark. The girl becomes close to Clark and speaks for the first time in years. But when she discloses her power to shatter glass, she becomes the prime suspect for the death of Naomi and her biological mother after Lois voices her suspicions to it. While Clark investigates the origin of Maddie, her powerful father, who also has the same ability, breaks out of prison and abducts her. Meanwhile, Chloe witnesses Lex and Lana too close to each other, and later she accuses Lex of taking advantage of the vulnerable Lana.

Shattered Glasses and Heart

When the foster mother and chief of staff of Martha, Naomi, is brutally murdered, her dumb stepdaughter Maddie stays with Martha and Clark. The girl becomes close to Clark and speaks again, but when she discloses her power of shattering glasses, she becomes the prime suspect of Lois for the death of Naomi and her biological mother. While Clark investigates the origin of Maddie, her powerful father leaves the prison and abducts her. Meanwhile, Chloe witnesses Lex and Lana too close to each other and later she accuses Lex of taking advantage of a vulnerable Lana. Martha assigns Lois as her chief of staff.

In this episode, the treatment of Clark with the wounded little girl is amazing. The debut of Tom Welling as a director is a pleasant episode mostly regarding his relationship with Maddie. The attraction of Lana for Lex is disappointing, even considering that her heart is broken for breaking-up with Clark, since the guy is a despicable villain. My vote is eight.
