Storyline

Dr. Finlay continues with the renovations to Arden House and meets one of the workmen who survived the war and is now an avid trade unionist and supporter of the Labour government. The man is surprised to learn that Dr. Finlay supports the National Health Service and Finlay in turn meets the reality of the new working man. Janet meanwhile is still looking for her replacement as housekeeper for the good doctors but is having trouble finding someone suitable. Her replacement make in fact be right in front of her. Dr. Neil is still smarting from the death of Robbie Hamilton and he seriously questions his suitability as a family physician. He may have an alternative when Professor Chalmers from the University offers him a position in his medical science laboratory. Written by garykmcd

Burning Bridges

The episode deals with Dr Gilmore's disintegrating relationship with his wife. She is in turmoil, a drunk and maybe even mental health issues.

A desperate Dr Gilmore has to seek Dr Cameron's help. It was very good drama and the rest of the stories could not live up to it.

Janet looking for the replacement housekeeper. Dr Finlay dealing with a bolshie decorator and Dr Neil getting an offer to do some medical research.

I did not know what to make of the fight between Dr Finlay and Dr Neil. It was well staged but laughably contrived.
