An escort girl gets the opportunity to inherit 6 million euros from a wealthy old and terminal sick man by marrying him. Unfortunately things don't always go as planned. Her own relationship doesn't seem to be strong enough to survive the period the old man, surprisingly recovering from cancer, has to live and even beyond. Written by nbosboom@hotmail.com
This movie starts out with more or less the same premise 'Indecent Proposal' (1993) does. A young (in this case unmarried) couple of which the woman is offered a fortune by an older man in return for her 'services'.
The difference is, this is not a boring daytime soap only made to make female viewers ponder about living life in luxury and their male counterparts hoping to see the lead actress in the nude. This is a decent (pun intended) thriller in which you DO care about the characters and their struggles to save their relationship rocked by the strain that sudden wealth and staying wealthy causes them.
During the last 15 minutes I was increasingly afraid to be disappointed with a conventional (i.e. Hollywood) ending, but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised by a sudden twist that topped it off.
Rifka Lodeizen, who showed in 'Simon' (2004) that she was ready for a lead role gave a great performance, as did Bastiaan Ragas.
