Storyline

It's Aquaman's opening day. Initial box office projections, already "Titanic"-sized, get even higher after the East Coast numbers stream in, giving everyone hope that the film has a chance to pass "Spider-Man" as the biggest opening weekend in history. To avoid getting recognized, Vince and the boys decide to take in a showing in the Valley, but the heat sets off blackouts and unsure West Coast numbers. The bouncing box office receipts and the heat push everyone to the brink, so to unwind, the crew ends up crashing a high school party, where Vince gets to live out his "Almost Famous" fantasy. When Ari finally finds them - a drunken Vince celebrating on a rooftop - he breaks the big news: "Aquaman" is back on track to break the weekend box office record. Written by Evie

Goofs

When Vince is on the roof of the house, telling all the teenage party-goers how good their lives are, his T-shirt is grossly sweat-stained. Seconds later, it's clean and dry. See more »

Quotes

Ari Gold: Okay, see, after the year that I've had and on the most important day of my life you'd think she might ask what I wanted, a nice blowjob perhaps, where all I could do is just sit back for the first time in nine months and do nothing but admire the top of her head and pray that this fucking movie opens so I can stop selling off assets like we're fucking Michael Jackson. Now I have to answer the fucking batphone when it rings three fucking times and it's fucking Vince.

House Party in the Valley
19 June 2006 | by sroakesSee all my reviews

Love the show but this episode was a total rip off of Almost Famous. Episode hinges on opening weekend Numbers of Aquaman amidst of a west-coast Blackout. Vince and the boys take in Aquaman at a theater in the Valley. Everybody gets cool Ducati bikes until the lights go out. Valley Nerds invite the boys to a house party ala Almost Famous. At least credit is given to that movie. Ari's wife can't get any action (too bad she is most delicious). The Boys party down at the house party with funnels and shotguns of beer. Turtle gets no love from Valley girls. Drama's anti-Valley sentiment does a 180 degree change at the end. The half hour episodes only leave me wanting more, they need to make this a 1 hour show.
