Storyline

A group of young adults set up tent near the abandoned summer camp where a series of gruesome murders are said to have taken place back in 1980. The perpetrator was a grieving mother, driven insane by the drowning of her child, Jason, whom she believed was neglected by the camp counselors. As legend has it, the last survivor of the attacks beheaded the woman. But then Jason came back, and now he is a vengeful and inexorable killer, wielding crossbows, swords, axes and other sharp instruments. The legend proves horribly true, as these campers quickly discover. Six months later, the brother of one of those campers distributes posters of his missing sister. The police believe she took off with her boyfriend; but he knows better. The brother crosses paths with an uptight young rich guy who is having his girlfriend and friends over at his parents' cabin. The brother ends up at the cabin himself just before his sister's attacker sets upon them all. Written by J. Spurlin

Goofs

(at around 1h 5 mins) When Trent and Bree are having sex in the bedroom. Bree is seen sitting up with her hands on top of her head holding her hair. When it cuts to showing Trent's upper body half. You can see Bree's hands by his neck and shoulders. When it cuts back to the same side view as before with Bree sitting on top of Trent as he is laying down. Her hands are all of a sudden back at the top of her head holding her hair. As quick as the shots are shown there is clearly no time for here to get her hands back up that fast. See more »

Camp Counselor: No.
Pamela Voorhees: You're the last one. I've killed all the others. It'll be easier for you than it was for Jason.
Camp Counselor: Why are you doing this?
Pamela Voorhees: You need to be punished for what you did to him.
Camp Counselor: I didn't do anything.
Pamela Voorhees: You let him drown. Jason was my son.
Camp Counselor: I didn't do anything. No. No. No. Please.

Finally, A Remake That Didn't Bomb
23 February 2009 | by See all my reviews

"Friday The 13th" is the story of a group of young people who are brutally massacred when camping near Crystal Lake. A few months later, a new group of kids, including one of the former kid's brother, goes to visit their friend who lives near the scene of the murder, however, they don't know that a murderer is stalking them and killing them. Okay, I thought for sure that this film was going to be horrible. Seriously, how could a remake of one of the most popular slasher flicks of all time be good? Well, I was wrong! It was surprisingly pretty good, and kept me entertained through the whole thing. The acting wasn't the best (Most of the women actors, besides Danielle Panabaker, were hired because they looked good naked, not because of their acting abilities.) The plot was okay, but I mean, hey, your expectations cannot be too high when you're watching a Friday the 13th, movie, you just have to go for the ride! All in all, it was a pretty good movie!

Rated: R for Violence, Sex, Nudity, Profanity, and Drug Use

Grade: C-
