Trama

Gabrielles comes home to Potedaia, where she meets her sister Lila. There, Lila tells her that a man called Gurkhan kidnapped her daughter, Sarah, and eventually killed her parents and her husband. Looking for revenge, Gabrielle decides to Gurkhan's palace in the walled city of Moghador, in Northern Africa, with Xena, Eve and Virgil.—Anonymous

TEASER

Xena (Lucy Lawless), Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor), Eve (Adrienne Wilkinson) and Virgil (William Gregory Lee) enter Poteidaia. Gabrielle is happy to see it is thriving. She runs off. The other three follow, walking.

Gabrielle walks up the fence before her home and stops. The other three join her. Xena encourages her to go on. Gabrielle steps through the gate and Xena closes it behind her. Gabrielle walks to the door. As she is about to knock, the door opens. An older Lila (Willa O'Neill) stands there. They hug.

Night. A storm has gathered outside. Lightning flashes. Inside Lilia's home, Gabrielle and Lila are sitting in front of the fire. Gabrielle has told Lila the story of the ice cave. Lila tells Gabrielle about her daughter. She tells Gabrielle that her daughter, Sarah (Tandi Wright) was captured by Gurkhan (Calvin Tuteao). Eve squishes the orange she is holding in her hand, a look of shock on her face and everyone looks at her. She tells them Gurkhan is in North Africa. Lila then tells Gabrielle that their parents and her husband went to buy Sarah back, but Gurkhan beheaded all three of them. Gabrielle gets a look of rage on her face and leaves the house.

Gabrielle steps outside and Xena follows. Gabrielle stops and sighs as she puts her hands over her face. Xena joins her. Xena tries to comfort Gabrielle, but Gabrielle is too angry and she wants vengeance.

ACT ONE

On a boat, Gabrielle practices with her sais. Eve joins her and tells her that she was in Mogador once. Gabrielle demands that Eve tell her about Gurkhan, but Eve can't because no one has ever seen him, as his identity is a secret. Gabrielle says she'll find him and then goes back to practicing. Eve warns Gabrielle that Gurkhan will be tough to kill, but if she's caught, she will want to pray for a quick end. Gabrielle asks Eve what she was doing in Mogador and Eve replies that she was selling slave girls, then walks off. Xena joins Gabrielle and tries to convince Gabrielle that shes not an assassin, but Gabrielle indicates that tomorrow she will be. She suddenly runs to the side of the boat and vomits.

Gabrielle looks over the water, looking ill. Xena and Eve are sitting together, looking at her. Eve commits that killing Gurkhan might have been an interesting challenge for her or Xena in their past, but they both know it's a suicide mission for Gabrielle. Eve observes that Gabrielle doesn't have what it takes to kill in cold blood. She wonders if she inherited that talent from Xena. Eve then asks what Xena is going to do about Gabrielle. Xena says she's going to cure her seasickness.

The boat has arrived at Mogador. Eve is sitting next to an unconscious Gabrielle. Virgil tries to wake Gabrielle. Xena enters and tells him that she gave Gabrielle something to help her seasickness and that she'll be out for awhile. Virgil comments that Gabrielle is going to be mad when she wakes up to find that Xena has gone on to Mogador without her. Xena replies that she'd like being beheaded even less and then tells Virgil she's coming with him. He tries to object, but Xena doesn't let him.

In Mogador, men move about with slave girls. Xena and Virgil enter the scene. Virgil is dressed in the same clothes as the other men and Xena is hidden beneath white silk. Virgil clears his throat as they step before the Auctioneer. Virgil removes the veil hiding Xena's face. The Auctioneer rises and inspects Xena. Virgil is chuckling. The Auctioneer tears off the cloth Xena is wearing. Virgil stands in shock at seeing a very naked Xena. The Auctioneer tells Virgil that he gets fifty percent and that Gurkhan will buy Xena.

At the auction, Xena moves onto the stage. Virgil moves about the crowd. The bidding begins with nose scratching and tassels waving. A bidder places his bid on Xena and the Auctioneer calls him Gurkhan. Virgil smiles and moves over the bidder so Xena can see who Gurkhan is. A different bidder bids and the Auctioneer also calls him Gurkhan Gurkhan has four men in the crowd who are bidding for him. Xena is won by one of Gurkhan's bidders.

ACT TWO

On the boat, Gabrielle wakes up. Eve joins her. Gabrielle rises and runs over to a flap, pulling it aside to see they are at Mogador. She turns to face Eve. Gabrielle asks Eve where Xena is, and Eve replies that she's as much to blame as Xena. Virgil returns singing that he is a pirate who sells maidens. He sees Gabrielle and drops a bag of gold. Gabrielle observes that he sold Xena to Gurkhan. Gabrielle says that two people can play at that game.

At Gurkhan's palace, the harem women move about. One is being covered in oil. Some smoke opium. Xena talks to some of the girls. One informs her that it's against the rules to talk about the other wives when Xena asks after Sarah. The girl warns Xena that Gurkhan will punish them if they break the rules - beaten, manacled, thrown in a dark dungeon and left to die. Sarah enters. Xena asks who she is, and Sarah reaches down and grabs Xena's hair, yelling at her for daring to question the number-one wife. She informs all the new girls of who she is and that she will carry Gurkhan's heir. Gurkhan is behind a wooden divider that has holes so that he may see in, but you can't see his face. Xena looks over at him, and when Sarah sees, she kicks Xena in the face. Xena looks down, pretending to be humble. Gurkhan is gone.

Later. The four Gurkhans sit in the middle of an elaborate room as the women tend to them. One of the Gurkhans is fed a nut. Two of the Gurkhans are smoking opium. Sarah leads in more wives, including Xena. Virgil enters with a covered Gabrielle. Gabrielle starts to dance down the stairs and over to the Gurkhans. Xena watches. Some of the other wives are playing the music. Virgil is dancing the music too as he watches Gabrielle. Virgil sees Xena who is glaring at him and stops, then clears his throat. Gabrielle continues to dance as everyone watches. Xena keeps an unhappy eye on Gabrielle. Gabrielle reaches behind her and Xena watches in surprise as Gabrielle grabs the handle of a danger hiding in the outfit she is wearing. Xena moves instantly and lunges at Gabrielle. Xena takes the dagger from out of Gabrielle's outfit. One of the Gurkhans motions to the guards who move in on Xena and Gabrielle. She hits Gabrielle and knocks her out. Xena holds the dagger over Gabrielle. Virgil leaves. Xena tells the guards that Gabrielle wont have Gurkhan before her and the guards hit her, knocking her out.

ACT THREE

Xena in unconscious on top of Gabrielle. The guards drag her away. Sarah watches as she's taken away.

In the harem room, Gabrielle enters and sits. One of the women asks Gabrielle if she was able to reach Xena, but Gabrielle wasn't able to because of all the guards.

An already severely beaten Xena is hit. She hits the floor hard. She is dirty and her clothing is torn. Xena pulls herself painfully along the floor. Xena is beaten and tortured over a long period of time and Gabrielle can only sit and wait.

Xena lies hardly conscious on the floor, her face swollen and bruised. Someone touches her face. She looks up to see a smiling Gabrielle, but then Gabrielle vanishes before her eyes. Xena looks about, confused.

Xena is tied upside down by her feet. She is being swung around as a guard beats her.

Xena is swinging upside down, tied by her feet. Blood pools below her. Gurkhan enters. Xena once more envisions Gabrielle, who is dancing before her. Xena tells Gurkhan that she wants to give herself to him and be his number-one wife. Gurkhan is amused. He leaves and the vision of Gabrielle vanishes.

In the harem room, Xena stumbles to the doorway and gasps. Xena uses it to hold herself up. Xena stumbles into the room, barely able to stand as the other women look at her in shock. Gabrielle's face is one of horror and sadness. The guards leave. Xena collapses on some pillows. Lana moves over to her and Gabrielle races to Xena's side and holds her.

Xena and Gabrielle sit at the pool. A woman is tending to the wounds on Xena's arms. Xena says she has a plan to flush out where Sarah is, and then Gabrielle can kill Gurkhan. Gabrielle thanks Xena, but Xena says not to thank her, to just be ready and then moves away.

Later in the harem. Sarah enters and tells the wives to face the floor. They all lay on their stomachs. Gurkhan enters and points at Xena and then leaves. Sarah tells her that she will dance.

Gabrielle paints Xena's face. She touches Xena's cheek and the two of them share a look.

Xena's face is covered. She dances for the Gurkhan. Gabrielle is sitting with Gurkhan along with a few other wives. Gurkhan is smoking opium. Xena removes her veil and continues to dance. Gurkhan sits up, amazed by Xena. She dances behind him and then in front of him, using the veil. She continues to seductively dance. She kneels and dances. She crawls over to him and places one end of the veil in his mouth and the other in hers. Sarah watches. Xena dances again and pulls on the veil. She dances before Gurkhan. She uses the veil to be pulled over to him and ends nearly in his lap. She tells him she has a request. He asks her what it is, and she replies, "Sarah's head on a plate." Gurkhan chuckles and agrees to give her the head. He snaps his fingers and guards take Sarah away. Gabrielle is both shocked and horrified to learn who Sarah is.

ACT FOUR

Gurkhan and Xena enter his bedroom. She touches his face seductively. Xena whispers in his ear. He's intrigued.

Gurkhan is on the bed, Xena straddling him. Gabrielle enters. He chuckles as Xena pushes him down. Xena puts the pinch on him. Xena moves off of him and hands Gabrielle a dagger. Gabrielle takes the dagger and unsheathes it. She crawls onto the bed and holds the dagger against Gurkhan's throat. She tells him who he killed. Then she says that if she kills him, then she becomes like him. She moves off of him and he grows calmer. Gabrielle leans in quickly, but without the dagger and tells him that she hates him. She pushes his head aside. He breaths in relief. Gabrielle starts to beat on him. Then she sits and sighs.

Gabrielle opens the door to the dudgeon. Sarah is sitting there. Her hair is no longer up, and she holds one of her silk cloths around her. Xena is behind Gabrielle. Gabrielle goes up to Sarah and tells her she is her aunt and that they are there to take her home. Gabrielle puts her arms around Sarah, who tries to pull away. Sarah begins to freak out, not wanting Gabrielle to touch her, but Gabrielle holds her. Sarah starts to cry, and Xena hugs her. Gabrielle tells her that no one blames her for what she had to become, because she was just a child. Gabrielle looks at Xena who has a sad look on her face. Xena drags Gurkhan in, holding him by his neck when Sarah says they can't get out. Xena says there's a loophole in the security system.

In the harem, Xena enters and invites them all on a cruise. They all follow Xena out.

Three guards enter the dudgeon to kill Sarah. They throw her to her knees and cut off her head, but when the head hits the floor, it's Gurkhan. The guards run away.

On the boat, all the girls are aboard. Sarah joins Gabrielle who is with Eve. Xena looks over at them. Gabrielle tells Sarah that Lila will be happy to see her. Sarah asks how she can ever be forgiven and Gabrielle replies, "Are you ever in the right company." Gabrielle looks at Eve and they give each other small smiles. Gabrielle looks at Xena who gives her a big grin.
