    • Trivia
When they introduce "Xena" to the people of the village, and Meg enters the scene, she yells "This is a good day to die!" This is believed to be a Sioux proverb, but is best known in popular culture as the phrase the Klingons always say in Star Trek before starting a battle.
    • Goofs
There's an arrow chalked on the windowsill right where Autolycus' hook latches on seconds later. Some viewer mistook this as marking the spot where the hook needed to land. The arrow was actually drawn by Meg to point Autolycus to the "Special Key." The next couple of shots confirm this by showing him following additional chalk marks. The hook landing almost exactly on the arrow is merely a coincidence.
    • Quotes

      Ormestin: TWO Xenas?

Xena: That's right. Makes ya wanna cry like a baby, doesn't it?

    • Crazy credits
No Priceless Porkers, of either organic or ceramic origin, were harmed during the production of this motion picture.

    Slapstick Xenaverse at its best
It's easy to forget that Lucy Lawless is a phenomenal actress with huge range. This episode is an hilarious reminder that she can play not-Xena roles with such aplomb that within seconds you're watching an entirely different character who just happens to look superficially similar.

Add in Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi chewing the scenery as Autolycus and Joxer and you've got the winning formula for a winning episode that serves as a welcome palette cleanser between the all-too-serious ones in Season 4.

Don't take it so seriously: sometimes it's OK to just laugh out loud, rather than to analyse the sub-sub-sub-text.
