Storyline

Well known author Jose Chung is writing a book about the claimed alien abduction of a young couple that was subsequently investigated by agents Mulder and Scully. With Mulder unavailable, Scully provides most of the information on the case. Chrissy and Harold were out on a date when their car suddenly lost all power in the middle of nowhere. From that point on however, their stories and that of the others involved in the investigation begin to vary considerably. It all equally leads to several possible conclusions. Written by garykmcd

Trivia

Jimmy Carter (who would go on to become governor of Georgia and later President of the United States) really did file a UFO sighting report for a sighting from 1969. Later investigation showed that he probably had just seen the planet Venus. See more »

Goofs

At approximately 29 minutes into the episode, an a trio of Air Force personnel walk up the hall to talk to Mulder and Scully. The leader of the team, Master Sergeant Hynek, is wearing obsolete rank insignia. The episode aired in 1996, and, one can assume, was filmed no earlier than late 1995; however, the USAF changed the MSgt. rank insignia in 1991, from six downward rockers, to five rockers and one upward chevron. By long before '95 or '96, all personnel would have transitioned to the new insignia. See more »

How the Hell should I know?
5 April 2013 | by See all my reviews

Just spent 5 hours transcribing the last several pages - the line "a ticking time-bomb of insanity"......!!!!!!!!

Jose: "What really happened to those kids on that night" Mulder: How the hell should i know?

Crap - i wasn't looking - but there was NO LINE that i could improve. The build up - and the last lines -- is what this is for - nothing I've seen TV/movie - matches this ending.

Im profoundly envious - of this whole script - and this last line:

"then there are those who care not about extraterrestrials - searching for meaning in other human beings -- rare or lucky are those who find it - for although we may not be alone in the Universe - in our own separate ways - on this planet - we are all alone."
