The scientist makes two mistakes when talking about what they do at the plant. He first said that they fuse uranium and plutonium atoms together. This is incorrect as the process enriches the two different materials to make two different bomb components (enriched uranium was used for the Hiroshima bomb and enriched plutonium was used for the Nagasaki one.) He later talks about being able to fuse hydrogen atoms together, but this wasn't accomplished until almost 15 years later when the first hydrogen bomb was exploded on the Bikini atoll. (It was this event that inspired the name for the two piece bathing suit.) See more
