Storyline

The saloon where Josh is playing cards suddenly goes quiet when two nuns enter. The Mother Superior walks over to Josh who stands as she approaches. She tells him that one of their novices, Sister Grace, who is seventeen was taken hostage by members of Lon Kidder's gang who want him returned. Kidder, a confessed murderer, is being held by the Sheriff in the local jail awaiting transport to Tucson, Arizona. The Sheriff refuses to release Kidder as it would invite the same action from other outlaws. Josh volunteers to take Kidder to Tucson for no pay. The Sheriff goes along realizing Josh has a short detour in mind. Kidder takes Josh to the hideout where Josh makes the switch cleanly. After he and Sister Grace are away from the hideout, he tries to convince her to return to the convent alone but instead she trails him when he returns to the hideout the next morning. Pretty good... for first season!
25 April 2010 | by rickzSee all my reviews

Part of this episode was filmed in Old Tucson... I recognize the shot of the Mission (you can see it in /Rio Bravo/ ) The saguaro's are obviously from around Tucson. After you watch a few of these episodes, you learn to recognize the same old town, with a few signs changed to let you know that a) All of these western towns look alike and b) A sign painter could make a pretty good living following Josh around!!

Old Tucson is different. It doesn't have the same old dead-end street!!!

The nun is interesting... sort of flirting with Josh. (Was that fair??) Some of these first episodes have been pretty ho-hum, but I liked this one. (My sweetie didn't.)
