The angry drug!
7 November 2017 | by See all my reviews

"The Enemies" is one of the better episodes of Season One and is well worth your time. The story begins with a sister ship of the Seaview and it's having serious problems. A tiny disagreement between the Captain and the First Officer results in the Captain going nuts and machine gunning everyone around him!! Evidently, he and the First Mate were not having one of their better days.

When the Seaview investigates, they find the other sub destroyed with no survivors. There's an island nearby and the Admiral and Cran investigate...and soon are captured by soldiers of 'The People's Republic'. Evidently, it's a research facility and the sub disaster was due to a drug these communists have developed which makes friends bitter and violent enemies...and they decide to try it out on their two new prisoners! In the end, however, the Admiral has the last laugh!!

The story was excellent, original and had a great ending. My only complaint is that all the soldiers of this 'People's Republic' were Asian guys EXCEPT for the two guys in charge...and they should have hired Asian actors for all these roles. Still well worth seeing and quite exciting.
