"Joanne Bonny's my best bet, if you know what I mean."

Jack earns a coveted gig serving as assistant chef on an ocean cruise, and can take one other person with him. The trouble arises when Janet and Chrissy campaign *hard* to be the one to accompany him. Jack was trying to avoid this, knowing that bad feelings could come out if one of the girls felt slighted.

Jack & the girls end up coming up with a hilarious solution, but until then the unqualified highlight occurs when the girls compete to see who can get Mr. Furley to speak to them first. Janet balances an umbrella on her hand, while Chrissy launches into impressions of Groucho & Harpo Marx and Lucille Ball as well.

The episode also enables Lana to be of use for once, when she talks some sense into the girls. Of course, she has the ulterior motive of wanting to be the person that goes with Jack on the cruise.

All in all, The Love Barge is not quite top-flight as Three's Company episodes go, but it certainly does deliver some solid laughs. John gets to take a priceless pratfall while trying to practice his balance, once again showing his mastery of physical comedy.

    Seven out of 10.

      [first lines]

Chrissy Snow: [enters, takes off a shoe] Hi.

Janet Wood: Hi, Chrissy. Why have you got one shoe off?

Chrissy Snow: I got gum stuck on it.

Janet Wood: Ugh. Now where did that happen?

Chrissy Snow: On the bottom of my shoe.

Janet Wood: I *know* the gum is on the bottom of your shoe.

Chrissy Snow: Then why did you ask?

Janet Wood: [gives up] I'm sorry.

Chrissy Snow: I'd better get a knife to scrape this off.

Janet Wood: Chrissy, you don't need a knife. You can use an ice cube.

      Chrissy Snow: Really?

      Janet Wood: Yeah.
