The Titans try to figure out why Raven despises her birthday while Slade mysteriously returns from the dead.

Raven locks herself in her room. The Titans realize it's her birthday, and try to get her to celebrate, but she's not in the mood. Slade shows up, with new powers and abilities, determined to deliver a birthday message to Raven, and remind her of her destiny.—Jesse Sanchez

After Slade emerges from the dead at the end of Season 2, Raven is shocked to learn about how her birthday was discovered, and to top it off, Beast Boy mentioned that he ran across a confidential file until Raven revealed some dark information about her birthday to Robin about her birthday. To make matters worse, Raven encounters an insignia and hears a dark voice the titans are shocked to learn how Slade emerged from the dead and claim that he is not looking for an apprentice, but to deliver a message to Raven. To make matters worse, Slade enhances the truth about Raven's birthday which forces Raven to free Robin to escape Slade. In addition to Raven's horror, five days have passed when she is shown the truth about all life forms being in one big graveyard where a big silhouette she claims that it is not true and Slade cuts in saying that it is true and reveals that her prophecy was not going to be stopped, Raven screams in horror where all life form has been freed as a way for Raven to learn about what she was destined for with the inscriptions faded, with Robin being able to save her from her death. Raven is in her bedroom cutting her hair after her horrifying event with Slade's message. A take two on Raven's birthday from Beast Boy where Robin presumably told Cyborg, Starfire, and Beast Boy the truth about why Raven didn't want to celebrate her birthday, Raven reluctantly agreeing to Beast Boy that she will celebrate her birthday with Beast Boy by getting ice cream, Starfire getting the crown of meat and Cyborg cutting the cake. Robin shows his sympathy about learning the truth about Raven's birthday was about a dark secret that Raven was afraid of. Raven agrees that no one was able to stop Raven's darkest secret, Robin promises to stop Slade and is determined to get to the truth about why Slade was stalking Raven and who sent Slade to stalk Raven and Robin goes to celebrate with Beast Boy, Starfire and Cyborg. Raven sees strange insignia on her palms, claiming that it was only the beginning. Slade is at the bottom of a cavern where he reports to an unknown figure that his first task was completed where Raven's message was sent, where an insignia was formed on the cavern wall and mentioning that The Prophecy will be fulfilled, where we hear from the same dark voice that the Earth will be brought to its destruction.
