In a church in rural Herzegovina a coffin lies in state, surrounded by candles and church cleaner Mina hears an old lady declare that something must not be allowed to leave. Over in England Mina gets work as a cleaner and birthday boy Kevin gets a nasty surprise. Canon Black's elderly sister is also one of several victims of an apparent vampire and the Canon has to admit that he has indeed known about the existence of demons as he asks for John Strange's help in destroying the vampire - or dubik. This is a demon which can cleverly play mind games with its victims, here pretending to be Strange's deceased girlfriend as Strange has to battle with the illusion. Written by don @ minifie-1

**SPOILERS** John Strange, Richard Coyle, gets the surprise of his life when Canon Black, Ian Richardson, the man who had him defrocked paid a visit to his rundown and dilapidated cellar dwelling on the Cathedral grounds.

It turns out that Canon Black does in fact believe in what Strange has been trying to prove all these years, and what got him drummed out of the ministry, about demons being among us in human as well as animal form. The Canon's own 71 year-old sister, Liz Daniels, has become one of these demons latest victims! Canon Black's sister was found dead in her home with a large gash on her forehead and with her blood completely drained out of her body. As we soon learn the blood sucking demon that killed Mrs. Black comes from a haunted forest in the far off Balkans and has somehow entered the UK undetected and is now in the process of killing people there in order to live off their blood supply.

Canon Black now has his hands full in keeping this story under raps when he in fact just about admitted, in a rare moment of honesty, that it's true to Strange himself. Known as the Dubik back in its native Herzegovina this blood-sucking demon is almost impossible to track down in the fact that it can be anywhere and in a number of places at the same time! Strange for his part is the last person to figure out just what this Dubik really is even though its identity becomes evident to his very on the ball girlfriend Nurse Jude Atkins, Samantha Janus.

***SPOILERS***For once it's Nurse Jude Atkins who comes to Strange's rescue not the other way around when Strange is strangely, when he should have known better, tricked by the clever Dubik in the final moments of the movie or TV episode. The life and death battle that follows with Atkins chopping away at the now exposed Dubik, after pretending to be Strange's deceased fiancée Helen Baxter (Kenny Elkins), has it not only catch fire from an overturned lantern but explode as it's life force, the icky green stuff that runs through its entire body, detonate when the flame enveloped it.

In the end Canon Black now knows that Strange is on to him in his fanatical attempt to keep the lid on what Strange knows to be the truth. This will not only vindicate Strange but expose the Canon in a major cover-up of Watergate-like proportions! A cover-up that's to be uncovered with the new and irrefutable evidence, of demons among us, that Strange obtained from the Canon himself!
