- Summer at South park is not going well: fireworks are banned, and a giant ash snake is ravaging the countryside.
- It's summer vacation, and now that the Colorado legislature has banned fireworks, the boys are left with nothing to do. Jimbo and Ned decide to head south and buy fireworks in Mexico, while the Mayor decides to exploit a loophole in the law (which still allows "snakes") by building the world's largest snake for the town's July 4 celebration. When the resulting snake becomes so large that it threatens to destroy everything, only a miracle can save the town.—Jean-Marc Rocher <rocher@fiberbit.net>
- Mr Garrison's class is almost free for summer vacation, until he demands to know what happened to his puppet, Mr Hat. However, noone confesses to taking Mr Hat, and the class heads on out.
The boys hope to buy some fireworks to play with, but find that all fireworks in Colorado have been banned after a North Park kid blew off his hands. All that can be sold are little 'snakes' that expand when heated up. The boys attempt to find other things to occupy their time, but can't find anything exciting to do. Stan's Uncle Jimbo and his friend Ned decide to do something about this, and head down to Mexico to bring illegal fireworks back for the boys.
Meanwhile, the mayor is upset that this also crimps plans for a 4th of July fireworks show. Speaking with her aides, they decide to have South Park create the world's largest snake and set it off.
At the celebration, the enormous snake is lit up, but due to its size, grows out of control, soon threatening the country.
Eventually, Jimbo and Ned return, and give the kids some fireworks they found. The fireworks end up striking the snake, causing it to stop growing.
