Storyline

After losing his college scholarship, a depressed Whitney falls in with a group of three former jocks from Smallville High who have tattoos made from kryptonite-laced paint that give them the power to walk through walls and commit various robberies around town. While Clark tries to track down the robbers, without getting physically close to them because of their tattoos, Chloe is seriously injured during a robbery of Lex's mansion when she is thrown out a window. Lex has his own plans to find the robbery trio when they steal an incriminating computer disk from his mansion. Also, Lana learns that Lex is the one who bought out the old movie theater and Nell's flower shop. Written by Anonymous

From this episode, the budget overruns on special effects were dramatically reined in as The WB was very unhappy with the amount of money being spent on CGI. See more »

When the thieves look at the monitor and the one with the plastic arm says "Check this out", they walk to him. While they come to him, the guy's lips move again and form the "Check this out", but you can't hear any voice. See more »

Chloe Sullivan: Hey.
Clark Kent: Your dad called and told me you were awake.
Chloe Sullivan: You're officially my first visitor.
Clark Kent: How are you feeling?
Chloe Sullivan: Like a million bucks, thrown in the washing machine and set on spin.
Clark Kent: Everyone was really worried about you.
Chloe Sullivan: Yeah, I noticed. Looks like Nell's flower shop's been stripped clean. I especially like the ones from Lex. Makes me feel like I won the Kentucky derby.

Be Careful With New Friends and Opportunities
27 March 2006 | by claudio_carvalhoSee all my reviews

While interviewing Lex Luthor in his mansion, three thieves pass through the walls, steal the safe, and Chloe Sullivan suffers a serious accident. Lex Luthor brings doctors from Metropolis to heal her. Meanwhile, the gang invites Whitney Fordman, who is frustrated after losing the scholarship in a university, to join the group without telling him what they do for living. When Whitney is tattooed with a green substance, he also achieves the power.

"Kinetic" is a reasonable, but still good episode of "Smallville". In this episode, Clark Kent has almost a secondary participation in the plot, which is centered in the character Whitney Fordman. He leans to be careful in the selection of new friends and opportunities. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Cinético" ("Kinetic")
