Blast Off Into Space
30 January 2018 | by See all my reviews

Drama at NASA as Steve is all set to go into space again.

Season five is obviously interested in going places as last week we were at the bottom of the sea and this week we are going into space.

Deadly Countdown is a reasonably good tale, if rather slow paced one, that reads like an excuse to use all these very elaborate real NASA filming locations. But I like looking at these real spacecrafts, etc. This movie-like adventure sure looks like no other Six Million Dollar Man episode before it. But if you are not into old NASA, well you might not get such a blast out of it?

Some viewers will welcome the addition of romance but I personally was calling out "these bits should have been deleted".

Finally, nice to see the nearly always evil Loyd Bochner, an actor I mainly know from Twilight Zone (1959), Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964) and Dynasty (1981).

In a nutshell, I feel like about 20 minutes could have been cut out, but the slow pacing does not bother me too much.

Very good.
