Storyline

Feeling that he has squandered his life,Homer becomes an inventor, inspired by Edison, though his inventions are rubbish. However the family like his reclining chair and, when he sees that Edison already made one but did not patent it,rushes to the museum to destroy the chair in their Edison display. He cannot go through with it,though, and leaves behind the tool with which he was going to break it up - an electric hammer, which is later claimed as an invention of Edison, thus depriving Homer of royalties from his genuine invention. Quotes

Homer: Well, I quit my job just like you said to.
Marge: I didn't tell you to quit your job.
Homer: Yes, you did. I remember your exact words. You said I should quit my job and become an inventor, or you'd torch the house.
Marge: That doesn't sound like me.

Inventitive Episode
6 March 2018 | by Gerardrobertson61See all my reviews

Homer decides to take on Thomas Edison and invent;s some real crazy ideas, like a shot gun that puts on make-up, a reclining chair with a built in toilet, the type of inventions that only Homer would come up with. From there, the plot centers round Bart and Homer going to the Edison Museum to seek revenge. I didn't think it was a great episode, just another average Simpsons outing.
