"Rosebud" is the result of some awesome writing... it depicts how everyone has a love in life... even something as small as a stuffed animal.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is about Burns' search for his missing teddy bear, Bobo. Burns has numerous dreams about his teddy bear and Smithers suspects that he's missing something. Once he figures it out, a search is conducted for the bear. The bear had gone through many situations and landed in Maggie's hands after all those years. Smithers tries to dress up as a bear to make Burns happy but it proves useless as the old man is too attached to his original little teddy. Even the most cold and ruthless person has a weakness... and Burns' seems to be his attachment to his teddy bear. Burns tries to force Maggie to obtain the bear in numerous situations... one in which Burns and Smithers try to steal the bear... but after all fails, Maggie decides to hand the bear to him out of her own will. Burns is satisfied and Smithers tucks him in bed with his little Bobo. In a small futuristic angle, Burns and Smithers are shown in their future selves as robotic and cyborg mutations... and Burns still has the teddy, his little dream toy. Awesome writing that portrays a man's love for something so minor yet amazing... how something of such small caliber can create such emotion in a person. Very awesome writing.

My favorite episode!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
"Rosebud" is my very favorite episode of The Simpsons. I've seen this episode lots of times and have loved it even more every time I watched it.

It's a very nice episode about Mr. Burns and how his childhood teddy bear Bobo got lost and he hasn't seen it since. But when the Simpsons family receives it in a bag of ice, they wonder if they need to give it back to him or not.

My favorite part of the episode had to be when Maggie gave Mr. Burns' lost bear back. I thought that was so cute and sweet. Though I also liked when Homer saw Mr. Burns' bear through the fish tank and said "How long have we had these fish!". That was so funny!

So overall this was a very funny episode from season 5.

You Know Why I Am Commenting On This (SPOILERS)

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS

Come on, I have recently seen Citizen Kane so I have decided to comment on Rosebud, which is basically a parody of Citizen Kane. I think that Citizen Kane was better than this, but this is still another fantastic episode of the Simpsons. It is very funny, the plot itself is good, and it has the Ramones in it! Instead of a sled, though, which was used in Citizen Kane, it is a stuffed teddy bear named Bobo.

Here is the plot of this episode. Mr. Burns is having nightmares about his long-lost stuffed teddy bear named Bobo. He left it in the snow when he was a child, and he has never seen it again. The only problem is that Maggie Simpson has that dilapidated teddy. Another problem is that they do not know it is Mr. Burns's. They find that out. Mr. Burns offers the family $1,000,000 is they give back the bear. Homer refuses, after he notices that Maggie loves the bear. Mr. Burns does everything to get it back. Then he cuts the power. Maggie and the family finally give the bear back.

Overall, this is one of the best episodes in Season Five of the Simpsons. Cape Feare was the best, but this is still a pretty good episode. Still, you should watch Citizen Kane before you try to watch this. I watched this before I watched Citizen Kane, then I watched this, and almost every scene parodies Citizen Kane. I also like the fact that this tells about Mr. Burns dark childhood. Anyway, this is a good episode of the Simpsons, but the best by far.

A Kane of Citizens
Hitchcoc7 May 2022
This is a parody of Citizen Kane. Mr. Burns leaves his family as a child to live with a rich man. He becomes the jerk he is now. Instead of the sled, Burns lost Bobo, his Teddy Bear. The episode involves his efforts to get the bear back (held by Maggie Simpson). Of course, no money is made.

That rare draft of the constitution

Mr Burns longs for his childhood teddy bear.

This is a very strong episode with some great character moments and strong humour.

The Citizen Kane parody is exceptionally good and the basis for so much humour. Plus I love the references to historical figures in the context of Bobo's journey through time.

The humour is generally excellent with a number of standout moments like Mr Burns' birthday show, his various attempts to obtain the bear.

When Mr Burns interacts with Maggie near the end it gives the story a heartwarming conclusion to remember. I love how intelligent she is written and emotionally aware.

Homer at his best

Warning: Spoilers
Mr. Burns keeps having nightmares about his old teddy bear (because he left it behind a long time ago) even to the point where it's the only thing he wants and would give anything for it and coincidentally falls in the hands of The Simpsons and is offered $1,000,000 for it but it's Maggie's favorite toy now and Homer decides to give up the $1,000,000 so Homer can see his daughter happy and even goes through torment by Mr.burns (like Mr.burns taking away all the beer from Springfield, ruining tv and even causing a mob to go after him).

Like the title says Homer is at his absolute best here (most likable) and it shows what he'll go though to see his daughter happy and it's really funny episode to go check it out.

Decent episode

I've seen this episode loads of times now and it's always been one of my favourites. The interactions between Homer and Maggie are sweet and Homer offering the cardboard as a replacement to Maggie before keeping it himself are funny.

This episode was around the peak of The Simpson's when they could do no wrong. Well worth watching.
