Trivia
The guest role in this episode was originally written for Michael Caine, the joke being that Caine's propensity for appearing in anything also included working in the Kwik-E-Mart. When Caine turned down the offer, the role was re-written for James Woods, with the joke being that he was working at the Kwik-E-Mart because he was researching a role.

The searing kiss of hot lead

Homer goes undercover to expose bad customer hygiene standards at the Quick E Mart.

This is a strong character episode with plenty of memorable humour.

It is good to see Apu being the main focus for a full episode as he has always been a funny character in those brief moments at the Quick E Mart. All his scenes are good, particularly when it involves Homer and their adventure together. I love the concept of the head office being a temple in India.

James Woods' guest appearance is one of the most memorable of The Simpsons as he sounds like he's putting a great effort into a hilarious self-parody. There are also several great movie tributes and references.
