      • Trivia
During the making of the episode, Helen Hunt and Hank Azaria were dating. In an interview with People Magazine in 1998, Mike Scully stated: "Hank and Helen got along so well it's hard to believe they are a real couple." In July 1999, the couple married, but divorced in December 2000, after a long separation.
      • Goofs
Homer escapes from jail for grand theft auto, but the police are never seen coming looking for him, he's never seen in court, charges are not dropped and the whole thing is simply forgotten about in the closing minutes of the episode.
      • Quotes

[Homer is sitting at the dinner table in all black with a balaclava on his head]

        Marge: Why all the black?

Homer: Why all the pearls? Why all the hair? Why anything?

Lisa: You look a little nervous, Dad.

Homer: No, *you* look a little nervous, Lisa.

Bart: You're up to something, aren't you, Dad?

Homer: NO. I'm just going out now to commit certain deeds.

Insurance fraud - not just for classic film noir, but also bang-up Simpsons episodes! 'Dumbbell Indemnity' (now there's a title that really spells it out) has one of my very favorite clips: the image of an irate Homer riding a library cart down the street ("Must kill Moe . . . WHEEEE!") . . .

But this one's got it in pretty much every department: sight gags, one-liners, a slew of Hank Azaria characters, and Homer's an idiot. But it goes beyond that to show a deep-seated insecurity beneath Moe's coarse veneer. It's hysterical, energetic, and even touching.

      Top-shelf Simpsons.
