Storyline

After Carrie's break-up with Mr. Big, despite Charlotte's rule it takes half the duration of a relationship to get over it, she lets true fan Miranda take her and Sam to the Yankees stadium, where she accidentally catches a ball and thus meets and invites, to everyone's surprise with success, charming baseball star Joe Starr to a party but bumps into Big there. Samantha is still miserable and tries to physically coach her James in bed, to no avail. Charlotte finds a lover with only one drawback, instinctive reaching for his balls, and buys him boxer shorts - which he finds too possessive. Written by KGF Vissers

Goofs

When Charlotte points out Carrie's photo in the newspaper and hands it to Carrie and Samantha, the paper is bent badly at the spine. When they hand it back seconds later, it is smoothed and shows no sign of having been bent wrongly at all. See more »

Miranda: All we talk about anymore is Big, or balls, or small dicks. How does it happen that four such smart women have nothing to talk about but boyfriends? It's like seventh grade with bank accounts!

Samantha's boyfriend shortcomings, she's on the short end of the stick in the bedroom!
17 May 2008 | by blanbrnSee all my reviews

This "SATC" episode "Take me out to the ball game" the season opener of season two, was a nice and funny opener in which it compares love, relationships, and sex to sports. As in sports and sex the ball bounces different ways. Carrie(Sarah Jessica Parker)is on the rebound from breaking up with Mr. Big(Chris Noth)and she hits a home run in the love department once that Miranda(Cynthia Nixon)introduces her to the new Yankee at a baseball game the girls attended. Most memorable of all that made this episode stick out was that the sexy and sex obsessed Samantha(Kim Cattrall)is having boyfriend troubles and most of all she's on the short end in the bedroom because of his shortcomings! His private part just doesn't measure up in size and length to please and pleasure her. The love making scene in her bed was memorable as Samantha coached him into her desired love making position teaching him to slide in just like a baseball coach! Overall very sexy and funny this episode really used the sports comparison drawing in as analogies to love and sex. And Samantha's problem and her bed technique of coaching made this episode rock as it was unforgettable and very memorable.
