Descrizione

  • Jack is a fellow writer whom Carrie met in Courtney's office. Jack writes hilarious comic novels for men. Courtney asks Carrie and Jack to spend some time together and exchange ideas. Jack is funny and makes fun of Courtney for his own failed book release, which nobody except his family buys. Jack collects old playing cards that he finds on the streets on NYC. Carrie invites Jack Berger (Ron Livingston) to her book opening party. Carries wants him to be her date, but he already has a girlfriend.

The opening turns out to be a huge event. Anthony is in charge of decorations and Samantha orders a hot pink background theme. The opening is a huge event between Samantha's PR and the publishers marketing of the event.

Carrie runs into Enid (her editor at Vogue) at lunch. Carrie tries to avoid Enid, but she calls her out and they end up having lunch together. Enid tells her that her husband is cheating on her, and she is cheating on him. Enid says that the key to having it all is to stop expecting that it would be the way you thought it would be. Carrie invites Enid to her book opening.

Charlotte butts' heads with Bunny MacDougal (Frances Sternhagen). Charlotte is dating Justin Anderson III (Peter Giles). Bunny walks in on Charlotte having sex with Justin, apparently the apartment co-op is spying on Charlotte on behalf of Bunny. Bunny reminds Bunny that the apartment belongs to the McDougal family and not to Charlotte and that she is still married to Trey.

Miranda's single life and her life with Brady conflict. She returns to office and is asked out on a date by Walker Lewis (Robert John Burke), who had sex with Miranda before she had a child. Miranda doesn't tell him about Brady and asks him to come to Carrie's book opening party. There Miranda convinces Walker to come home with her, even though she has a baby. They are in the middle of amazing sex when Brady starts crying. Walker leaves.

Charlotte brings Anthony as her guest to Carrie's event, as Justin bailed after the visit from Bunny.

Stanford is invited by Carrie, and he has decided to bring Marcus. Stanford is delighted to know that Anthony is attending the event with Charlotte as he wants to show that Anthony rejected him, and now Stanford has it all.

Samantha had gone for her regular Botox injections and gets an impulse-buy chemical peel that goes awry. The Doctor suggested the peel to Samantha by saying that it would make her look 10-15 years younger. Samantha braves the scar tissue on her face and shows up to the book opening for Carrie as Carrie insists that Samantha has to come to help her handle the press. Samantha covers her face with a black veil to hide her disaster with the chemical peel. But then Samantha believes that women should not have to hide behind their cosmetic surgery as that is what society expects of them. Carrie is distraught that Samantha picked per party to make this statement.

Stanford rubs Marcus in Anthony's face, who beats a hasty retreat. Jack comes by to say congrats to Carrie. Carrie finds Jack very cute and wants to start things with him.
