Trama

While Simon is recovering in hospital from being shot, he overhears a murder being planned - placing his life in immediate jeopardy. Meanwhile his substitute is trying to take down a major crime lord - by herself.

Banks is shot during a bank robbery. While he is recuperating, semi-delirious, he hears two doctors planning a murder; they take action to keep him from talking. Meanwhile, his replacement, Capt. Sarah Finkelman, shakes things up with her by-the-book approach, even though at the same time she violates department policy by singlehandedly trying to bust a drug kingpin who is selling black market Freon. She and the squad agree to put aside their differences and work together. With the help of a sharp nurse, Banks escapes death at the hands of the rogue MDs and blows the whistle on them. Banks returns to the squad, and Finkelman goes on to her own command.
