After a suicide attempt by Jerry's neighbor lands him in a coma, Jerry begins a relationship with his girlfriend. George visits a psychic who predicts trouble on his upcoming trip. Elaine agonizes over having to fast before surgery.

When Jerry's neighbor Martin tries to commit suicide after his girlfriend Gina tries to break up with, Martin ends up in a coma in the hospital. As for Gina, she ends up in bed with Jerry as they begin a fling. He can help but wonder about the morality of it all. Elaine meanwhile takes George to a psychic who tells him something terrible will happen during his forthcoming holiday to Grand Cayman. He frets over it and gets Kramer to take his ticket off his hands. Kramer has quite a tale to tell him on his return. As for Elaine, she has to fast for a few days before undergoing medical tests.—garykmcd

Elaine needs to fast before an ulcer test, so she tries starving herself three days before the test. After his neighbor Martin (C.E. Grimes) tries to commit suicide and ends up in a coma, Jerry is hit on by his girlfriend, Gina (Gina Gallego), while at the hospital. Gina has the hots for Jerry & wants to have sex with him. She says she has broken up with Martin, part of the reason why Martin tried to commit suicide and is now in coma. Gina says that Martin was jealous of any person who even looked at her. Martin specifically did not like Jerry as he thought that Jerry had feelings for Gina. Jerry can't kiss Gina as he is afraid of Martin, even though he is now in a coma. Gina is disgusted that Jerry would not kiss her even in front of a comatose Martin.

George says that he had dreamed about Martin a few days before and is worried if that means something for his upcoming vacation to Cayman Islands. George believes that this was a paranormal event and wants some external help to figure out what this means. Elaine and George visit a psychic at her apartment who warns George to cancel his vacation to the Cayman Islands. However, when Elaine rebukes her for smoking while pregnant, the psychic kicks them out before telling George why he should cancel. Terrified, George sells his ticket to Kramer.

Kramer says that after 24 hours of a coma, everything that the victim has is up for grabs. There is no coma etiquette for how long to wait before making a move on his ex-girlfriend. Jerry becomes worried when Newman (a fellow resident and friend of Martin's) sees Jerry with Gina. Later, in the comatose Martin's hospital room, Newman hints to Jerry that he will tell Martin what's been going on with Jerry and Gina, while Kramer is in there to tell Martin to give him back his vacuum cleaner. Elaine is increasingly hungry, and her scheduled ulcer test is nowhere in sight. Jerry asks George to put all his belongings in storage, if he ever goes into coma, to save it from looters.

Jerry attempts to buy Newman (Wayne Knight) off with the extra Drake's coffee cake that he has; however, Elaine (now starving without food) takes it and devours it before he can even eat it. Meanwhile, George finds Rula (Mimi Lieber) the psychic in another hospital room as she is going into labor. He tries to discover from her the reason why he shouldn't go to the Caymans; however, she is taken away to give birth before she can divulge it. Amidst all the commotion Martin awakens from his coma and Newman promptly tells him everything, resulting in Jerry being choked.

While in the Caymans, Kramer played nude backgammon with Elle Macpherson, one of the models who was there for a shooting of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Upon his return he explains to George that he was mildly stung on the foot by a jellyfish and theorizes that this is why the psychic didn't want George to go on the trip. George sarcastically agrees. George and Jerry leave to have dinner with Elaine (who had to reschedule her appointment) while Kramer rushes back to call Elle.
