Trivia

It aired on November 3, 1994, during a special "Blackout Thursday" night on NBC, in which all shows in the Must See TV line-up, except this one, featured a fictional New York City blackout (e.g., Friends: The One with the Blackout (1994)). See more »

Goofs

Jerry states that Katya, the Romanian gymnast, won a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics. Only two female Romanian gymnasts won silver medals at that Olympics. One was Ecaterina Szabo who place second in the individual all-around, the other was Doina Staiculescu who took silver in the individual all-around in rhythmic gymnastics. See more »

Quotes

Jerry Seinfeld: So let me get this straight. You find yourself in the kitchen. You see an éclair in the receptacle... and you think to yourself: "What the hell, I'll just eat some trash."
George Louis Costanza: No, no, no. It was not trash.
Jerry Seinfeld: Was it in the trash?
George Louis Costanza: Yes.
Jerry Seinfeld: Then it was trash.
George Louis Costanza: It wasn't down in. It was sort of on top.
Jerry Seinfeld: But it was in the cylinder.
George Louis Costanza: Above the rim.
Jerry Seinfeld: Adjacent to refuse is refuse.
George Louis Costanza: It was on a magazine, and it still had the doily on.

Season 6, Episode 6, "The Gymnast"

Extremely underrated, "The Gymnast" may well be my favorite episode from Seinfed's 6th season. First and foremost it's noteworthy for Ian Abercrombie's performance as Mr. Pitt; he truly steals the show in this episode, and his final scene alone is one of the season's most laugh out loud hilarious moments.

He's not alone though. Michael Richards and Jason Alexander are at their best. In addition, Romanian actress Elina Löwensohn is terrific as Jerry's girlfriend-of-the-week, and their final conversation is fantastic, even if it makes no sense at all.
