Jason Alexander in Seinfeld (1989)

Trivia

The Abstinence

Seinfeld

Edit
"Two coffees and a big salad" is what George (Jason Alexander) says in Portuguese to the Portuguese waitress.
Phil Morris says he particularly enjoyed his role in this episode as, for all his life, having a name similar to the tobacco company Philip Morris, he had to suffer wisecracks from people. When he delivers the line "Tobacco companies? I've been wanting a piece of them for years," he claims he was channelling some of this frustration.
Jerry had a hard time keeping a straight face in the scene in which Kramer has been disfigured by the smoke while Michael Richards refused to break character.
John F. Kennedy Junior High School, where Jerry goes to speak on Career Day, is actually Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood, Brooklyn, whose most notable graduate is Marisa Tomei, who appeared as herself in The Cadillac (1996).
Throughout his scenes at the diner, "smart George" is seen carrying around the textbook "Chaos and Fractals: New Frontiers of Science."
