Mike tries to talk him out of risking his life with such a reckless grab at publicity, but gets nowhere. The young man is clearly being pressured into this by his father, a former athlete who's willing to risk his son's life for another record. Written by Jay Phelps <>

Diver Don
27 February 2012 | by See all my reviews

Movie stunt man and scuba diver Don Eitner (as Tom Gale) is going to try for the super deep-diving record of 370 feet, but Mike (Lloyd Bridges) thinks his pal is treading dangerous waters. An Olympic high diving champion, Mr. Eitner's father John Beradino (as Buster Gale) supports his son's risky behavior. In order to keep his friend as safe as possible, Mike employs capable character actor Bill Erwin (as Hugh Benedict) to help during the training process. Hoping for a movie deal, Eitner has buddy Robert Hoy (as Charlie O'Neil) around, but he could be a jinx. In the end, an important lesson is learned.
