[Warren drops his cane after swinging and missing at Steve's pistol]
Steve Dexter : Losing your grip on things, Mr. Warren?
Mark Warren : No, not the big things.
Steve Dexter : I wouldn't call this big. Prodding a man to draw so you can kill him - I'd call that pretty small.
Mark Warren : Horning in on my personal affairs - I'd call that pretty dangerous.
Laura Warren : Steve, what are you trying to do? Johnny doesn't belong in a game like that. The stakes are too high.
Steve Dexter : I'm staking him.
Laura Warren : Why should you? And why did you talk him into playing in the first place, especially against my father and Dineen?
Steve Dexter : A lot of things can be settled over a poker game.
Laura Warren : But Johnny's not good at gambling.
Steve Dexter : He's the big winner with you, isn't he?
Laura Warren : Yes, Steve, he is, no matter what anybody does!
Steve Dexter : ...I can't beat a hand like that.
