Storyline

Roseanne pretends to be ill in order to get some rest and relaxation to the exhaustion of everyone else in the family, who are at her beck and call. David discovers Roseanne's faking but when he confronts her, Roseanne strikes a deal with him that he reluctantly accepts. Meanwhile, Jackie confronts Beverly about being an awful mother and is stunned by her reaction.

Trivia

When Dan becomes aware Roseanne is faking it and staying in bed, he reverses course and plays the role like she MUST stay in bed and it is his role to supervise her. The end scene shows Dan, aware Roseanne had tried to sneak out, come into the bedroom with a hammer, reminiscent of Kathy Bates ready to hobble James Caan with a sledgehammer in Misery (1990) for doing a similar thing.
