Sara's paternal cousin, world famous but snobbish actress Pigeon Plumtree, comes to Avonlea for a visit. All of Avonlea is enthralled with the celebrity in their midst. Pigeon encourages Sara to pursue a career in acting, much to Hetty's chagrin who doesn't much like Pigeon. Pigeon also agrees to perform at a local fund-raising recital while in town, with Sara to be on stage with her. Meanwhile, Theodora Dixon has been in love with rough and tumble pig farmer Pat Frewen for twenty years - it was love at first sight - but he doesn't seem to reciprocate those feelings. In Sara's vow to help Theodora in her quest for Pat, Sara mentions to him that a certain someone is in love with him. Pat believes Sara is speaking of Pigeon, Pat who is infatuated with the world famous actress. Within the confusion of this love triangle, Pat may lose who he finally comes to realize is his true love.
While her cousin, the world-famous actress Pigeon Plumtree, is visiting, Sara teaches social graces to a shy pig farmer.
