Storyline

Betty Roberts (Amanda Naughton) wakes up on a couch, having seen the supposedly dead Victor Comstock (John Bedford Lloyd) and convinces herself it was a dream, until Victor is again at her side, offering her a glass of water. She verifies his identity to her own satisfaction, and he explains that he has been pretending to be dead because he is doing a job in Germany for military intelligence. He has been posing as Jonathan Arnold, a disaffected American journalist who is broadcasting for the Nazis. Meanwhile, Eugenia Bremer (Mary Stout) arrives for her late show, "Agitato Alert," and is soon joined by her sponsor, Mr. Medwick (Bob Dorian) who has brought along world traveler Cutter Dunlap (Malcolm Gets), just returned from two years in Tibet with no contact to the outside world. Dunlap blunders into the office where Victor is hiding, and greets him as an old friend, not realizing he had been reported dead. Victor and Betty fill him with outlandish stories of what happened while he was...
