- Red Dwarf becomes a booby-trap when Lister activates the self-destruct, which turns out to be the vending machine and Lister is implanted with the mind of one of the dead crew members and Rimmer believes it's the perfect way to help Lister get fit.—Daniel Williamson
- A skutter has gone haywire and rewired the ship, Rimmer and Kryten are in charge of repairs and Lister and Cat are warned not to touch anything electrical until it's safe. Lister goes to order some snacks from a vending machine and initiates the self-destruct sequence. Kryten recommends a mind swap to bypass the mainframe's security and override the self-destruct sequence, Rimmer and Cat go to retrieve the Captain's personality chip but have to settle for a female executive officer, Carol Brown. Lister has his mind swapped with the executive officer, the attempt fails but the ship does not self-destruct, Holly says it's because she removed the explosive years ago and no-one asked.
Lister's mind is returned, while in the quarters Rimmer addresses Lister's bad health, his diet, his smoking and lack of exercise, he convinces Lister to a mind swap to get him in shape for two weeks, however Rimmer is having too much fun being able to indulge himself again and puts on more weight. Lister demands his body back.
Lister refuses to let Rimmer have his body again, but Rimmer gets Kryten, who is unable to disobey an order to swap minds again. Lister wakes up in Rimmer's body and finds the latter left him a message saying he's fled with Lister's body and Starbug. The other three follow onto a moon, where Rimmer crashes his ship and pranks Lister into thinking he's lost his arm.
Lister is returned to his body and has to undergo a strict diet to compensate for Rimmer's damages, Rimmer has gotten Kryten to swap minds with the Cat to continue his indulgence.
