- After a microchip is found in an admiral's body, during an autopsy, Quincy is reinstated into the Navy to find a spy. Unfortunately for Quincy, the old Admiral had more than one secret to keep.
- Captain Quincy, M.D., U.S.N.R. is in proud attendance with Sam and Asten when a museum is dedicated in honor of his friend and former boss, U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Burgess S. "Leadbottom" Mackenzie, under whom he served in Korea. When Admiral Burgess collapses and dies at the dedication ceremony, Quincy immediately takes charge and begins the autopsy; he and Sam find a mysterious computer chip and some unexplained questions about the Admiral's heart condition. Under U.S. law, when an active duty hero dies in the performance of his duties, the autopsy must be formally conducted by a U.S. Naval pathologist as per the offices of the U.S. Navy. Dr. Asten refuses to release the remains of Rear Admiral Mackensie to Cmdr. Butler of the Navy unless Quincy signs the paperwork. The Navy is upset: when JFK died in Dallas, his remains were transported to Maryland and autopsied at Bethesda Naval Hospital. When WIVES (in the plural) begin appearing at the morgue at L.A. County Coroner's office (one of them discussing Admiral Mackenzie's Navy funeral with full military honours at Arlington National Cemetary ordered by the White House) Quincy politely but firmly refuses to release his the body of his fallen comrade. When the Admiral of the 16th Naval District of the U.S. Navy reinstates Quincy's Naval commission, Quincy is back in the Navy. Will it be boot camp, espionage, or murder?—LA-Lawyer
- Rear Admiral Mckenzie, an old colleague of Quincy's, dies while opening a naval museum named after him. A simple autopsy causes confusion for Quincy and Asten when they encounter a naval commander desperate for the body, 3 Mrs. Mckenzies and the presence of a microchip inside his stomach. Soon Quincy has his Naval reserve status reactivated and finds himself involved in the cat and mouse affairs of espionage and counter espionage.
