When Doyle is trying in vain to chat up Dr Ross, Bodie says "...It gives one a certain masochistic pleasure..." but a few seconds later when Dr Ross plays back a secret recording that she has made of the conversation, Bodie says "...It gives me certain masochistic pleasure..." ("me" rather than "one"). When she plays the tape to Cowley, he says "one" again.

    Un-Easy Rider...
Bodie and Doyle are put through their paces at an intense CI5 training camp - both for their physical and mental capabilities. Bodie however is found wanting, and seems to be not quite up to par. Cowley is concerned as to why and, when Bodie becomes involved in a deadly motorcycle scrambling race with the leader of a notorious biker gang, he eventually finds out why.

As with some other stories from the tail end of the series, this one tries to do something a bit different with the usual formula. It's very much a Bodie episode, as we (and CI5 alike) try to fathom why he's acting so out of character. There's some great scenes filmed using hand-held cameras that keep the action feeling real, and give this story an authentic edge. It maybe lacks the usual witty banter, espionage and car chases we're accustomed to, but is definitely lifted at the end by a tense and nerve-jangling conclusion - where you do really wonder if Cowley would be so ruthless and do what he said he would do!

Great to see the lovely Sarah Douglas in a guest-star role as the unflappable Dr Kate Ross - most famous of course as Ursa in the first two Superman movies.

Maybe not the best episode per se, but an unusual and engaging one that is no easy ride for for a certain Mr Willam Bodie.
