Trivia

The scene where Bodie, Julia and Myer make their get away by stealing the Ford Cortina estate with boat on top takes place on The Thames at Taplow, Maidenhead. Bert Bushmell's boat yard is clearly visible in several shots; less obvious is The Skindles pub. Both these no longer exist. See more »

Terrorists on the Thames
8 May 2015 | by See all my reviews

This is one of the most gloriously improbable episodes of The professionals. Bodie, who has injured his hand, is out rowing on the Thames near Marlow with his girlfriend, when he just happens to spot the leader of a terrorist gang that CI5 are after. naturally he has to capture the terrorist single handed, but no sooner has he done so than the rest of the gang turn up in a boat (no doubt they were going for a picnic). So Bodie and girlfriend depart with terrorist leader, with the rest of the gang giving chase. if you can swallow the basic improbability of a terrorist gang hanging out on the river at Marlow (not normally known as a terrorist stronghold) then you can enjoy the thrills and spills as Bodie battles the gang single-handed (and left handed at that) while Cowley and Doyle desperately try to track him down. Absolutely thrilling from beginning to end.
