Sheriff Jimmy Brock: When I came to this town, the biggest crime problem was jay walking. Now it's murder. And this department, routinely, botches investigations, mis-handles evidence, and the bad guys GO FREE! Things are changing today. We will begin a physical fitness regiment. We will have new standards. Anybody not measuring up to those standards will be broomed out. Anyone. This department is in it far too s...

[looks over at Laurie Bey in a trooper's hat]

Sheriff Jimmy Brock: What are you doing here?

Laurie Bey: At your service, sir.

Sheriff Jimmy Brock: [Jimmy takes off Laurie's hat] Dismissed. Go.

Laurie Bey: [Laurie grabs hat back] That's mine.

[Laurie walks across the squad room and everybody watches]

      Sheriff Jimmy Brock: Eyes front.

      [Everybody faces forward]

Sheriff Jimmy Brock: Fun time's over. There's a new sheriff in town. And it's me.

[Jimmy slams his office door shut]

    More Downhill Movement
Once again, the stupid police force screws up and a murderer is set free. Kenny and Max, out on a public street, can't keep their hands off each other. Carter's past is always in the way. The head falling off wasn't his fault, but that's how it is seen. The case against the woman was purely circumstantial, and so these little sidetracks pushed everything over. The search for a new mayor is more idiotic yet. This will be the last time I will use the expression "Give me a break." Since I'm nearly the only one reviewing these things, you readers can just pencil it it. Let's face it. Things are so far in right field there is no holding to the center. Oh, in fairness, there were some pretty funny lines as the house was searched. And why wasn't this done before--maybe the first day?
