Laurie Prange and Ian Wolfe
10 March 2014 | by kevinolzakSee all my reviews

"Road Song" features newcomer Laurie Prange as teenager Maggie, who wants the Partridges to take her to her father in Albuquerque, but refuses to divulge her identity or explain why the police are pursuing her. She turns out to be a runaway, living in Nebraska with her grandparents, but yearning to join her father in New Mexico. Ian Wolfe's grandfather feels no love for Sandy Kenyon's father, so Shirley acts as go-between for a satisfactory conclusion. Watch for Dick Wilson, TV's 'Mr. Whipple' in those Charmin commercials, and Yvonne Wilder, previously seen in "Mom Drops Out," again as a wisecracking waitress, this time busy swatting flies (23 at last count!). The last time a track from THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY ALBUM was featured, Tony Romeo's "Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque" was a prime example of a song written to order for a specific script.
