Trivia

After their television set stops working, Charlotte and Jerry Beene discover that binoculars on their balcony can be even better entertainment. As the narrator tells us, "Mom and Dad had become totally hooked on Reality." As they scan the open windows of nearby apartments, we, the audience, realize that we're getting a neat satire of 2003 Reality Television from this show set in 1963. Jerry: "Oh, man, there is so much to watch tonight." Charlotte: "I know. Let's watch The Bachelor." (A man eating alone in his kitchen.) Charlotte: "Umm. Hmm. Big Brother?" (An adolescent giving a younger boy a Noogie.) Charlotte: ". . . Millionaire." (A man in a suit of tails, trying on a silk top hat.) Jerry: "We could watch Queer Eye." (A man with one bugged-out eye, watering the geraniums on his window ledge.) See more »
