McGee learns that he is a victim of credit-card fraud. A storekeeper second-class, stationed in Norfolk, dies in a car wreck in a wooded area near Norfolk while his wife listens on a telephone to a gunshot and the resulting collision. Gibbs and company investigate; first they suspect the victim to be an impostor, then Abby finds that the victim is the real sailor, whereas the supposed real one is an impostor. The real sailor felt a need to avoid his new workplace, so the two men swapped places, but the impostor had a civilian job with unusual duties. The victim's past caught up with him. The gang figure out the death but not the civilian work. Written by DocRushing
